Keine Zensur Twitter-Accounts Zu Gunsten von Nicolas Sarkozy - Internet ohne Grenzen
In einer Bewegung ohne Beispiel in Frankreich, wurde das Netzwerk vier Twitter-Accounts von Twitter-Nutzern zwischen 16 und 18 Februar 2012 ausgesetzt. Das gemeinsame Merkmal dieser Konten ist die Parodie und Karikatur der Präsidentschafts-Kampagne des scheidenden Präsidenten Nicolas Sarkozy. Internet ohne Grenzen wird über politische Zensur von diesem sozialen Netzwerk innerhalb von 62 Tagen nach der Präsidentschaftswahl Französisch betrieben besorgt.

Israel’s largest bank comes under cyberattack, Iranian hackers believed to be behind it
According to Israeli tech blog, NewsGeek, Bank Hapoalim is one of the latest Israeli institutions to come under cyberattack [Hebrew]. With attacks continuing to take place by both Israeli and Saudi hackers, Iranian hackers are now believed to have been involved in the latest attack.
Since January 3, Saudi and Israeli hackers have continued to exchange blows, attacking governmental and official websites, targeting Facebook users, and revealing credit card information.

Hackers target Putin's vote-monitoring system
Hackers have tried to crash a vast network of Web cameras which Vladimir Putin has ordered to allay fears of vote-rigging in the March presidential election, a deputy minister said on Friday.
Putin, facing the biggest protests of his 12-year rule after a disputed December parliamentary election the opposition said was rigged, ordered 182,000 Web cameras to be installed at the 91,000 polling stations.

Shining Light On ACTA's Lack Of Transparency
One of the key problems with ACTA is the lack of transparency during its negotiation. That this is becoming a big issue in Europe is shown by the fact that the European Commission has tried to dispose of the question twice -- first in its "10 myths about ACTA", which I discussed recently on Techdirt, and now with a page entitled "Transparency of ACTA negotiations":
This factsheet aims at clarifying the way the European Parliament, civil society and all stakeholders have been informed and involved in the negotiation process.
Note that it insists all stakeholders were "informed and involved". I'd like to explore that a little.

Phone and email records to be stored in new spy plan
Details of every phone call and text message, email traffic and websites visited online are to be stored in a series of vast databases under new Government anti-terror plans.
Landline and mobile phone companies and broadband providers will be ordered to store the data for a year and make it available to the security services under the scheme.
The databases would not record the contents of calls, texts or emails but the numbers or email addresses of who they are sent and received by.
For the first time, the security services will have widespread access to information about who has been communicating with each other on social networking sites such as Facebook.

Animal rights group says drone shot down
A remote-controlled aircraft owned by an animal rights group was reportedly shot down near Broxton Bridge Plantation Sunday near Ehrhardt, S.C.
Steve Hindi, president of SHARK (SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness), said his group was preparing to launch its Mikrokopter drone to video what he called a live pigeon shoot on Sunday when law enforcement officers and an attorney claiming to represent the privately-owned plantation near Ehrhardt tried to stop the aircraft from flying.

Dumb Teen, Looking For Marijuana, Steals Tomato Plant
Call it a case of mistaken plant identity.
A 15-year-old boy climbed into Angela Cartwright's kitchen window thinking to make off with a marijuana plant, but instead the young thief was actually stealing a potted tomato plant, a sheriff's arrest report shows.
As he was running from Cartwright's house on Carmen Avenue near Holly Hill on Feb. 10 just after 7 a.m., the teen even yelled at Cartwright, "See, I have one of your pot plants!" the arrest report states.

Armed robbers steal blow-up sex doll
A blow-up doll in one of Russia’s sex shops has fallen prey to a group of armed robbers in what could become the perfect setting for a gangster comedy.
The Pink Rabbit sex shop became the theater of war for three gentlemen who broke into the boutique in the center of St Petersburg at six o’clock in the morning.
