Segway hits unexpected bumps


The two-wheeled battery-powered scooter known as the Segway all but hypnotized the media and public when it was unveiled a year ago. But the fascination appears to be wearing thin in Northern California. After San Francisco decided to ban the Segway from its sidewalks late last year, a number of other Bay Area cities — from Oakland to Santa Cruz — are considering the same move.

British soccer coach quits over lesbian drama


Davidson said numerous fights between players in romantic relationships were tearing the team apart and that he could not take it anymore. "'I'm at the end of my tether," he said. "Some girls spend all the time squabbling rather than actually focusing on the game. Most of the team were fine, but some were an absolute nightmare. I don't have anything against lesbians. At the end of the day it had nothing to do with the team, but it started showing on the pitch that things weren't right."

Computer chips heist at BA depot


Computer chips worth an estimated £6.2m were stolen from a British Airways loading area near Heathrow Airport on Sunday.

Scotland Yard said the Pentium IIII chips were inside an American Airlines van which was taken when the driver left it unattended for a few moments.
