Dutchman Sold Pieces of the Moon


For years, Rene Veenema says he made a small fortune selling real estate plots on the moon. Now he's in jail, on Earth.

Veenema, 33, has been accused of fraud and forgery by prosecutors investigating complaints from clients who said they paid for, but never received, ownership certificates for their parcels of land in space, the daily Telegraaf newspaper reported Tuesday.

Teen, Tossed 25 Feet in Air During Car Accident, Grabs Overhead Wires Until Rescued


A teenager was catapulted at least 25 feet in the air during an auto accident but grabbed onto overhead utility wires like an action hero and dangled for about 20 minutes before a rescue crew brought him down by ladder. Joe R. Thompson III, 18, was treated for bruises and scratches at a hospital and was released.

"God was definitely in control," he said.

Colombian TV Crew Kidnapped While Covering Rebel Kidnapping of U.S. Reporters


A Colombian television news crew was released Tuesday after being held since the weekend by leftist rebels in Arauca state, where they had gone to report on the rebel capture last week of U.S. newspaper reporters.

The RCN Television crew had not been heard from since 5 p.m. Sunday in the town of Tame, station director Alvaro Garcia said. He said the rebels freed the team near Tame.
