Eine verschreckte Kuh hat Sonntagfrüh einen Pensionsten in Piesendorf (Pinzgau) überrannt und dabei schwer verletzt. Das Tier war von einer Weide entkommen.

Blast Blows Eyes, Nose Off Marcos Bust
A powerful bomb defaced a giant stone bust of late strongman Ferdinand Marcos on a northern Philippine hillside Sunday, blowing off its eyes and nose. No one was hurt in the blast after midnight in the town of Tuba about 130 miles north of Manila, police senior inspector Ruben Gomez said. It wasn't clear who was responsible.

Welcome to Ultimate '80s Songs!
Originally inspired on a long car trip during which my husband and I named the songs that would be on the ideal compilation CD, this list now consists of songs that I feel best capture the spirit of the 1980s (and a few from outside the 80s). This means it's subjective - what was popular in the eighties for me may not have been for you.

Moscow points to Grozny's Arab tie
Terrorist acts targeting Grozny are being financed by unnamed Arab countries, Moscow's leading anti-espionage agent says.
The head of the anti-terrorist branch for the northern Caucasus, Col. Ilya Shabalkin, said orders were coming from a well-known rebel, Shamil Basayev, and a representative of the "Muslim Brotherhood" -- Abu Al Walid , CNN's Jill Dougherty reported.

Ever since MacOS X emerged, there's been occasional rumors that it would be fitted to x86 machines. In other words, a Mac OS for your PC.
They seem to be more than rumors now: Mac OS X86, code-named Marklar.

Kenya's ruling party routed
Kenya's opposition has won a landslide victory in the country's elections, ending the ruling Kanu party's four-decade long spell in power. Not all the votes have yet been counted, but the electoral commission said there was no doubt that Mwai Kibaki of the National Rainbow Coalition (Narc) would be the country's next president.
