US-Regierung nimmt Internet-Überwachung selbst in die Hand
Ursprünglich hatte die US-Regierung vorgesehen, dass private Unternehmen für die Sicherheit des Internet zuständig sein sollten. Nun gibt es anscheinend doch Pläne für ein zentrales Überwachungssystem unter staatlicher Führung.

SpamPal ist ein Programm, mit dem man lästigen Spam von Mails, die man wirklich lesen will, unterscheiden kann. Indem man SpamPal nutzt, kann man Spam in einen separaten Ordner filtern oder einfach löschen lassen, um nicht von den wirklich wichtigen Mails abgelenkt zu werden.
Einige ISP (Internet Service Provider: Anbieter für Internetzugang) nutzen DNSBL-Listen, um die Mails ihrer Kunden zu filtern. Diese Listen enthalten Informationen über Wege, die üblicherweise von Spammern genutzt werden. Indem man Mails, die über diese Wege kommen, ablehnt, werden die Kunden von einem Großteil an Spam geschützt. Diese DNSBL-Listen werden jedoch nur von wenigen Anbietern verwendet; teils aus Faulheit oder aus Furcht, falsche Mails zurückzuweisen. Andere Anbieter verwenden nur ein oder zwei speziell abgestimmte DNSBL Listen.
