Angriff auf die Internet-Infrastruktur
-= FOLLOWUP =-

Communiques from past serial killers

Examples of communiques by serial killers, according to a study by Tomas Guillen, who teaches journalism at Seattle University:

LIPSTICK KILLER: "For heaven's sake, catch me before I kill more; I cannot control myself," said the message scrawled in lipstick on a wall in the home of one of the Chicago killer's victims in 1946. Another victim's family was sent a letter demanding $20,000 in ransom.

Researchers blast Keiko project

"To me, it's incomprehensible that anyone can think that an animal that's been so influenced by humans can become wild again." Berntsen said.

A US-based Keiko-supporter group has spent at least NOK 140 million (around USD 20 million) trying to return Keiko to the wilds. Berntsen noted that orcas like Keiko are typical flock-oriented animals that are especially difficult to return to the nature.

Keiko will spend the winter in the idyllic
Taknes Bay, not far from Kristiansund.

Angry Missive Complains of 'Ignored' Calls

An angry letter found tacked to a tree behind a restaurant where the sniper wounded a man last weekend complained of six failed attempts to reach police, and threatened more killings -- of children in particular -- if millions of dollars were not deposited in a bank account within two days, according to law enforcement sources.

Surveillance equipment: Ground based listening posts: 15-20 Listening satellites in orbit: 7 Intercept posts on embassy rooftops: 40-50 Communications monitored every hour at average listening post: 2 million Amount actually processed by decrypters, translators and analysts: 1% Little known fact: In February 2000, the NSA's computer system crashed, a sign of overload. Who Is the Sniper? Blogs Tell All

The D.C. sniper's a lonely teenager. No wait, he's an al-Qaida operative. Check that, he's an Iraqi agent trying to draw Washington-area law enforcement away from the District. A psycho, pissed off over the price of gas. A deranged truck driver. A racist nut. A calculating, terrorist "market researcher," seeing how this brand of attack works in the Capitol before exporting it to other American cities.

Powerful attack cripples majority of key Internet computers

An unusually powerful electronic attack briefly crippled nine of the 13 computer servers that manage global Internet traffic this week, officials disclosed Tuesday. But most Internet users didn't notice because the attack only lasted one hour.

The FBI and White House were investigating. One official described the attack Monday as the most sophisticated and large-scale assault against these crucial computers in the history of the Internet. The origin of the attack was not known.
