Police say burglar found in women's underwear
A man is accused of burglary after police say they found him wearing two bras, a petticoat and a pair of bright red knickers.
Kaitaia police acting Sergeant Alison Holdaway said the man was drunk and broke into a second-hand clothing store about 2.30am on Saturday.

Germany sued over fake Parmesan
The EU’s executive Commission has taken Germany to the top European court for failing to stop the sale of fake Parmesan cheese. The Italian cheese, formally called Parmigiano Reggiano, has had a European Union trademark since 1996. It can only be made in a designated region of northern Italy that includes Parma and Reggio Emilia, using a set recipe.

Officials were searching early Tuesday for a 6-year-old tiger that escaped from the residence of an actor who once played Tarzan.

A new documentary backed by liberal political groups aims to document that the Fox News Channel is anything but "fair and balanced," despite the cable-news network's motto.
The film, "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism," draws on clips compiled during weeks of round-the-clock taping of the network to demonstrate what the filmmakers believe is a pattern of right-wing bias and support for the Republican agenda.

Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge today revealed that there is “credible evidence” that al-Qaeda is preparing attack ads to be aired in key battleground states in the hopes of influencing the fall election.
“According to our information, al-Qaeda plans to run ads attacking President Bush’s record on the economy, Iraq, and the war on terror,” said Mr. Ridge, who called the potential effect of such ads on President Bush’s reelection campaign “sobering.”
