Katholische Kirche will "Anke Late Night" boykottieren
Der Rundfunkbeauftragte des Erzbistums Hamburg, Andreas Herzig, hat zum Boykott der Sat1-Sendung 'Anke Late Night' aufgerufen.
Auslöser für diesen Boykottaufruf ist ein nach Worten Herzigs 'widerlicher Witz' über das erkrankte Oberhaupt der katholischen Kirche.
Engelke parodierte Papst Johannes Paul II. beim vergeblichen Versuch, seine Geburtstagskerzen auszupusten. Herzig fügte hinzu, dass Engelkes Vorgänger Schmidt solche 'schäbigen' Witze nicht nötig gehabt hätte.

Urteil: Keine langen Haare bei Polizisten
Ein Gerichtsurteil unterstützt die bisherige Praxis, dass uniformierte Polizeibeamten die Haare nicht über den Hemdkragen tragen dürfen. Dies hat das Oberverwaltungsgericht Koblenz am Freitag entschlossen.
Im Herbst 2003 gab es vor Gericht einen Fall, in dem ein Vorgesetzter aus der Pfalz einem Polizisten den 'Pferderschwanz' verbieten wollte. Das Gericht schloss sich der Meinung des Vorgesetzten an.

Actor survives 26-meter fall from ninth floor of condo
Actor Yosuke Kubozuka plunged 26 meters from the ninth floor of the apartment complex where he lives Sunday afternoon, police said.
Kubozuka, 25, was rushed to hospital where he remains fully conscious, according to Kanagawa Prefectural Police. It remains unclear how serious his injuries are.

The magazine said Lopez, 33, married Latin music star Anthony, 34, at her home in Los Angeles Saturday in front of about 40 guests. Us Weekly said it had pictures of a giant tent assembled on the estate and of guests coming and going among tables covered in white table cloths and flower centerpieces.

'Mini-Me' Actor Seeks Annulment from Model
The diminutive actor best known for playing Mini-Me, the pint-sized look-alike protege of Dr. Evil in the "Austin Powers" movies, has gone to court to challenge the claims of a leggy, blond model that he has married her. A hearing in the annulment proceedings brought by Verne Troyer, who stands just 32 inches tall, is set for June 17, his attorney said on Friday.

RIAA Views Fingerprint Technology that Fights File-Sharing
The company Veritouch says that copyright watchdogs the RIAA and MPAA have looked at a technology called iVue which Veritouch created with a Swedish design company. The technology promises to stop file sharing by biometric means. Veritouch says: "In practical terms, VeriTouch's breakthrough in anti-piracy technology means that no delivered content to a customer may be copied, shared or otherwise distributed because each file is uniquely locked by the customer's live fingerprint scan."

Man Dies After Broward Deputies Use Pepper Spray on Him
A Lauderdale Lakes man who fought with several people and bit a bystander died after Broward County sheriff's deputies used pepper spray on him.
Derek T. Kendrick, 36, died at Broward General Medical Center at 3:30 p.m. Friday, sheriff's spokeswoman Liz Calzadilla said. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the cause of death and homicide detectives were investigating.

A crew of smugglers paid an undercover customs agent $1 million to turn a blind eye while they shipped massive quantities of fake designer bags and watches to the city, the feds said yesterday.
Bad news for the smugglers — the agent was only pretending to be corrupt.

Harry Potter Hospitalised With Suspected Heroin Overdose

Daniel Radcliffe, the young star of the Harry Potter series, was admitted to hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning after suffering a suspected heroin overdose at his home in London.
According to police, Radcliffe was discovered by his mother at around 6.20am lying unconscious in a ground floor bathroom in their house along with what has been described as "drug paraphernalia".
