The planet Venus is set to make a very rare passage across the face of the Sun
Tuesday's six-hour transit has not been witnessed for 122 years and observers will position themselves in Europe, Asia and Africa to get the best view.

Thousands of Iranians said ready for suicide raids
Thousands of Iranians have signed up for suicide attacks on Israel, U.S.-led forces in Iraq and British author Salman Rushdie, a recruiting group said today.
Shiite Iran has strongly condemned the occupation of Iraq and voiced its outrage at damage to shrines in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.
The father of Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, condemned Rushdie to death in 1989 for alleged blasphemy in his novel "The Satanic Verses."

Ice hotel succumbs to Interior sun
The frozen martini glasses are disappearing, ice chandeliers are falling from the ceiling and the walls of the Aurora Ice Hotel are shrinking.
Sunshine and high temperatures have assaulted the ice hotel at Chena Hot Springs Resort since March, causing enough melting to persuade owners to abandon plans for keeping the building through summer months.

Artist Covers Bed With 312 Pounds Of Ham
Some see it as appetizing, some see it as a waste of food, and others think it's just plain weird.
An artist who is best known for his work with cheese has ventured into a different medium. In a street-level gallery of a Manhattan hotel Thursday Cosimo Cavallaro performed his latest work -- 312 pounds of processed ham covering a four-poster bed.
