Juden beschweren sich über Google
Google.com: Bis vor kurzem bekam man bei der Suche nach dem Begriff 'jew' (zu deutsch: Jude) als erstes Ergebnis eine Homepage namens 'Jew watch'. Diese Homepage enthält antisemitische Inhalte.
Mittlerweile erhält man als bestes Ergebnis removejewwatch.com. Diese Seite wurde von Steven Weinstock ins Internet gestellt. Es handelt sich um eine Unterschriftenaktion.
Laut Weinstock wird die Seite 'Jew Watch' von Google entfernt, wenn sich 50.000 Leute eingetragen haben. Google dementierte dies jedoch. Die Suchergebnisse werden nur durch Algorithmen bestimmt.

Woman Busted Swallowing Diamond Ring
Mary Denise Flowers (38) was caught by surveillance cameras in a Littman Jeweler's store having a quick bite to eat. The item on the menu was a 1.5 carat diamond ring.
She was ordered to pay fines and court costs totaling more than $1,000, Flowers can return to her clean record if she completes probation without violation.
The ring was later returned in a jailhouse commode and will be sent back the jeweler's headquarters to be melted down.

Tyler verlor in Sushibar 50.000-Dollar-Wette
Aerosmith-Sänger Steven Tyler hat seine verrückteste Begegnung mit einem Fan geschildert: Er habe mit einem Japaner um 50.000 Dollar gewettet, dass er in einer Sushibar alles essen könne, sagte der 56-jährige Amerikaner der Männerzeitschrift «FHM».
«Da lebten Dinge in den Aquarien, die aussahen wie jemandes Achselhöhle.» Er habe sich übergeben müssen, bevor er alles essen konnte, und habe die Wette verloren.
Das Unglaublichste, was er auf einer Party gesehen hat, war ein Mädchen, das mit seinem Holzbein gewunken hat, wie Tyler sagte. «Ich hab' das Ding dann mit Bier aufgefüllt und so lange getrunken, bis ich nicht mehr gehen konnte», sagte er.

Mit Hilfe eines DNA-Tests will Nicholas Locock dann beweisen, dass sein Vorfahr ein Enkel von Königin Victoria war. Der Fall wurde am Samstag vor das höchste englischen Kirchengericht gebracht, das entscheiden soll, ob die sterblichen Überreste des vor fast 100 Jahren verstorbenen Henry Locock aus einem Grab neben einer Kirche in Sevenoaks exhumiert werden dürfen.

The development of the Google algorithms was carried on on a variety of Computers, mainly provided by the NSF-DARPA-NASA-funded Digital Library project at Stanford. Click to see the equipment in its laboratory setting on the basement floor of Gates Information Sciences. Crawling the web to obtain its link structure required an enormous amount of storage in comparison with typical student projects at that time. We show here the original storage assembly, containing 10 4 Gigabyte disk drives, giving 40 Gbytes total.

Newseum
The Freedom Forum has unveiled its design for a new, expanded Newseum next to the Washington, D.C., mall and its museums and monuments. The six-level, 215,000-square-foot interactive museum of news will contain three times as much exhibition space as the original facility in Arlington, Va., which closed in March 2002 to permit Newseum staff to focus exclusively on planning and developing the new museum, which is scheduled to open in late 2006.

Star Wars Episode 3 Release Date Announced
The circle will at last be complete when Star Wars: Episode III is released to theaters in the United States and Canada, with a near-simultaneous release around the world, on Thursday, May 19, 2005. In Japan, Episode III will be released in July, the traditional month for Star Wars premieres.
Exact information for other countries outside of the U.S. and Canada will be coming shortly, so keep checking starwars.com for full details as May 2005 approaches.
