A 1901 lightbulb still burns bright to this day


day you'll find this remarkable light bulb burning bright at a fire station in Livermore, California. It hasn't been turned off since 1901. The Guinness Book of World Records, Ripley's Believe It Or Not and General Electric agree the bulb, made of tungsten and of unknown wattage, is the longest-living in history, despite two moves and a few power outages during its lifetime.

New Year fireworks blast kills 28 in Mexico


A New Year's Eve fireworks explosion killed at least 28 people and injured more than 50 in the Mexican port city of Veracruz on Tuesday.
