Turtle's Bath - expensive


A pet turtle had enjoyed living in a stream of running water at a steady temperature of 36 Celsius for 18 months. The local utility estimated the turtle's consumption at 5,000 cubic meters of water and 160,000 kWh of district heating at a cost of $15,15O, a local newspaper in the town of Helsingborg reported Wednesday.

Sony Announces OS 5 NX Series


Sony has just announced the Clié PEG NX-70V and NX-60 handhelds. These models run Palm OS 5 on a 200mhz ARM CPU (Intel XScale PAX250). They have a high-Resolution TFT 320x480 screen, 16 MB RAM, 16 MB ROM, a new wireless expansion slot, Memory Stick slot, a built-in voice recorder, MP3 player and an internal mini keyboard. The handhelds have the similar folding clamshell design from the Sony NR series.

Satellite tracks 'lost' buzzard - Still no cure to stop researchers from wasting money


Fears are growing for the safety of a rare bird of prey which got lost at sea while making a migration from Scotland to Africa. The young honey buzzard, which only learned to fly a month ago, went off course after it was caught in difficult weather conditions over the Atlantic.

Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith Wanted For Schumacher's 'A Star Is Born' Remake. Will Smith is burning with jealousy over J. Lo's hot career. Her star is shining so brightly, in fact, that it's making Smith horribly, inconsolably depressed.

At least that's what will happen onscreen if director Joel Schumacher gets his wish. He's looking to tackle a remake of "A Star Is Born," the classic story of a star in a slump whose spirits spiral further downwards when the career of a girl he discovers starts to eclipse his own. Smith and Lopez are two names that have long been attached to the project.

Top 10: Most Expensive Wines


There's more to wine than two-dollar Night Train. In the mid-'80s, billionaire Malcolm Forbes paid approximately $155,000 at auction for a bottle of wine. The bottle, which was believed to have come from Thomas Jefferson's own collection and dated back to 1787, was then put on display under strong lights and at the wrong angle. These conditions eventually made the cork fall into the bottle, and the wine lost its value and was thrown away.

NASA postpones launch of shuttle until Monday


The threat of Hurricane Lili causing the evacuation or damage to the Johnson Space Center in Houston forced NASA officials today to postpone the launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis until next week.

After officials here at the Kennedy Space Center and the Johnson Space Center in Houston met this morning, a decision was made to hold off launching the space shuttle until Monday afternoon.
