Segway Polo Report + Video
Yesterday the Bay Area SEG had its second Segway Polo game. We had two more players, bringing the total up to 6. With these two new players came a brand new dynamic into the sport; goalies.

American Segue :: America at 10 MPH
On August 5, a solo Segway rider and crew will depart Seattle, WA to begin a 10 MPH expedition to Boston, MA in pursuit of the American Dream. We're going to produce an ongoing online documentary - like you've never seen before - featuring daily video and audio stories about fellow Americans' and their own American Dream. And when we're finished, we'll wrap it up with a feature-length documentary.

The man who brought you the homemade Segway returns with a self-balancing one-wheeler
The Eunicycle balances itself using a simple feedback loop between a solid-state gyroscope and the wheel motor. When it detects itself tilting forward, it runs the wheel forward to keep it under the center of gravity. When it detects itself tilting backwards it runs the wheel backwards. It does this so rapidly, about 200 updates per second, that it feels perfectly smooth.

A Bright Idea, But Business Model Wobbles
Dean Kamen hoped to change the world by inventing his futuristic upright scooter, the Segway. His quest now is more pedestrian: keeping afloat the company that sells his invention.
Segway LLC, the Manchester, N.H., company formed by Mr. Kamen to make and market the $4,000 scooter, has been beset by poor sales and management turnover. Mr. Kamen recently raised $31 million in fresh money to supplement the $100 million initially raised.

Christmas shoppers in Europe won't be asking Santa for a Segway Human Transporter this holiday season. While it may be a revolutionary gizmo, the two-wheeled scooter also appears to be illegal in most of Europe.
