Ein Fehler in Googles Browser erlaubt es Angreifern, das Rechnermikrofon ohne Wissen des Nutzers zum Mitschneiden seiner Gespräche zu verwenden. Das Leck ist dem Hersteller seit Monaten bekannt, aber bisher nicht behoben.

Kiffen ist laut US-Präsident Barack Obama nicht gefährlicher als das Trinken von Alkohol. Das Rauchen von Marihuana sei dennoch eine schlechte Idee, sagte Obama in einem Interview mit der Zeitschrift The New Yorker. "Wie gut dokumentiert ist, habe ich als Junge Marihuana geraucht, und ich sehe es als schlechte Angewohnheit und als Laster, nicht sehr anders als die Zigaretten, die ich als junger Mensch und einen Großteil meines Erwachsenenlebens geraucht habe."

Donut-sized rock suddenly appears in front of Mars rover
As we’ve learned from our recent explorations of Mars, there’s really not a whole lot going on there. Yes, there are geological processes at work, but most of them move at a nearly imperceptible pace. So that's why after nearly ten years of Martian rover exploration, NASA scientists were surprised to see a rock suddenly “appear” in front of the Mars Rover last week.
You can see the rock in the images above. The image on the left shows the area in front of Opportunity on Sol 3528. The image to the right was taken 12 Martian days later and is almost identical—except for a rock the size of a donut that had unexpectedly shown up

Will Monsanto Become The NSA Of Agriculture?
Monsanto is best-known for its controversial use of genetically-modified organisms, and less well-known for being involved in the story of the defoliant Agent Orange (the company's long and involved story is well told in the book and film "The World According to Monsanto", by Marie-Monique Robin.) Its shadow also looms large over the current TPP talks: the USTR's Chief Agricultural Negotiator is Islam A. Siddiqui, a former lobbyist for Monsanto. But it would seem that the company is starting to explore new fields, so to speak; as Salon reports in a fascinating and important post, Monsanto is going digital:
Monsanto spent close to $1 billion to buy the Climate Corporation, a data analytics firm. Last year the chemical and seed company also bought Precision Planting, another high-tech firm, and also launched a venture capital arm geared to fund tech start-ups.</p>

Fridge sends spam emails as attack hits smart gadgets
A fridge has been discovered sending out spam after a web attack managed to compromise smart gadgets.
The fridge was one of more than 100,000 devices used to take part in the spam campaign.
Uncovered by security firm Proofpoint the attack compromised computers, home routers, media PCs and smart TV sets.
The attack is believed to be one of the first to exploit the lax security on devices that are part of the "internet of things".
