Sie bieten hier auf einen Original 5 Euro - Schein aus dem frühen 21. Jahrhundert, den ich von meiner Ur-Großmutter geerbt habe!!!
Gedruckt in der "guten alten Zeit", war er (wie alle anderen seiner Leidensgenossen) bekanntlich nur ganze 6 Jahre im Umlauf, nämlich bis zur großen Weltwirtschaftskrise von 2009.
Dieser vorausgegangen war im Jahre 2008 eine weltweite Finanzkrise, welche ein Garantie-Versprechen über mehrere hundert Milliarden Euro der Politiker aller großen Parteien nach sich zog.

89-jähriger Raser ohne Führerschein erwischt
Durch seinen Fahrstil ist gestern ein 89-jähriger Vorarlberger in Tirol einer Polizeistreife aufgefallen. Bei der Kontrolle stellte sich heraus, dass dem Pensionisten der Führerschein bereits entzogen worden war.

Police have smashed a major drugs ring in Mexico City seizing weapons, vehicles - and lions.
Eleven Colombians, a US citizen, two Mexicans and an Uruguayan were detained during a raid on a sprawling mansion on Saturday, prosecutor Marisela Morales told a news conference.

Einmal Kokain - immer Kokain, einmal 4 kg - nicht immer 4 kg?
In einem heute ins Netz gestellten Urteil (BGer 6B_361/2008 vom 09.10.2008) hält es das Bundesgericht für erwiesen, dass die Beschwerdeführerein durch eine Drogenkurierein mehrfach Kokain in die Schweiz einführen liess. Da zwei Lieferungen offenbar nicht sichergestellt werden konnten, war die Beschwerdeführerin aufgrund von Schätzungen der entsprechenden Drogenmengen verurteilt worden.

Scientists discover Stone Age drug paraphernalia
They found ceramic bowls, as well as tubes for inhaling drug fumes or powders, which appear to have originated in South America between 100BC and 400BC and were then carried 400 miles to the islands.
While the use of such paraphernalia for inhaling drugs is well-known, the age of the bowls has thrown new light on how long humans have been taking drugs.

Best Microscopic Images of 2008 Announced
Sinewy filaments within squirming microscopic diatoms, a type of algae, are artificially rainbow hued as a result of being photographed through polarizing light filters.
Captured by retired British microscopist Michael Stringer, the photo took top prize--and U.S. $3,000--in the 2008 Small World Photomicrography Competition, organizers announced on October 15. Sponsored by Nikon, the annual contest showcases "the beauty and complexity of life as seen through the light microscope."
