Ferrari’s Big Bluff
Ferrari says it will walk away from Formula 1 next year if the people making the rules adopt a two-tiered regulatory structure and budget cap that sharply limits how much teams can spend each season.
The legendary automaker joins Toyota, Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso in threatening to bow out if the Federation Internationale d’Automobile doesn’t back down. While the other teams are only making noise at this point, Ferrari’s board of directors voted Monday to call it quits if the rules are adopted.

White House Czar Calls for End to 'War on Drugs'
The Obama administration's new drug czar says he wants to banish the idea that the U.S. is fighting "a war on drugs," a move that would underscore a shift favoring treatment over incarceration in trying to reduce illicit drug use.
In his first interview since being confirmed to head the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, Gil Kerlikowske said Wednesday the bellicose analogy was a barrier to dealing with the nation's drug issues.

Cocaine and LSD found in air of Spanish cities
Air pollution has long been a fact of life in Spanish cities, but scientists now say that it is not just smog that chokes people as they walk to work or stroll through the park.
A new study has found the air in Madrid and Barcelona is also laced with at least five drugs - most prominently cocaine.

Wer durch Madrid und Barcelona flaniert, inhaliert nicht nur Sauerstoff und Kohlendioxid, sondern auch Rauschgift. In der Luft beider Metropolen ist Kokain die vorherrschende Droge, wie aus einer Studie des spanischen Forschungsinstituts CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) hervorgeht. Mit einer neuen Methode zum Aufspüren von Drogen in der Luft haben die Forscher zwischen 29 und 850 Pikogramm Kokain pro Kubikmeter Luft nachgewiesen. Bei den Messungen stellte sich zudem heraus, dass die Kokain-Konzentration am Wochenende höher lag als unter der Woche.
