Behörden schmuggeln Passagier Sprengstoff ins Gepäck


Ungewöhnlicher Sicherheitstest slowakischer Behörden: Berichten zufolge wurde am Flughafen von Bratislava dem Passagier eines Fluges nach Dublin Sprengstoff untergejubelt. Der Mann passierte sämtliche Kontrollen. Erst drei Tage später informierte die Slowakei die irische Polizei.

The Web site of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union was reportedly attacked by hackers on Monday and the welcome message from Spain’s Prime Minister replaced for a time with another from a man José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero has often been said to resemble: a friendly ‘Hi there’, from the British actor Rowan Atkinson in the part of Mr Bean.

Polizist vergnügt sich während des Gottesdienstes


Ausgerechnet während des Rosenkranz-Gebetes amüsierte sich ein Pärchen auf der Empore einer Pfarrkirche in Oberbayern - und das lautstark. Pech für die beiden: Kirchgänger erkannten den Mann, einen Polizisten. Für ihn folgte ein unerfreuliches Nachspiel.

Not so great escape: Prisoner trying to flee has to be rescued after he is stuck in bars of cell


He was presumably hoping to kick of 2010 a free man on the run but it seems he forgot to meticulously plan his escape route.

Prisoner Roberto Carrillo attempted to flee his cell in a Mexican jail in Valle Hermoso on New Year's Eve.

You're doing it wrong! Chinese demolition men accidentally create the leaning tower of Liuzhou


Everyone likes to see a good video of a large building being completely reduced to rubble.

The footage, taken on December 30, shows a 22-floor residential building being demolished in the city of Liuzhou in southern China.

Thieves have stolen about 30 paintings, including a work by Spanish master Pablo Picasso, from a private villa in the south of France, police said on Saturday.

Tibetan 'living Buddha' Phurbu Tsering jailed by China


China has sentenced a Tibetan Buddhist lama to more than eight years in jail for illegal possession of ammunition and embezzlement.

The monk, Phurbu Tsering Rinpoche, denies all charges, his lawyer said.
