Giant iceberg breaks off from Antarctic glacier
An iceberg the size of Luxembourg has broken off from a glacier in Antarctica after being rammed by another giant iceberg, scientists said on Friday, in an event that could affect ocean circulation patterns.

Visitors evacuated as Dubai's shark aquarium cracks open
An aquarium and a shopping centre in Dubai have been evacuated after water leaked from a massive tank holding hundreds of sharks.
Safety officials said the "small crack" appeared in the tank which holds 10 million litres of water and more than 33,000 underwater creatures.

Man with 'world's longest hair', Tran Van Hay, dies in Vietnam
Tran Van Hay is thought to have had hair up to 6.8 metres long, although it had never been officially measured for a record attempt. It stretched in a thick, matted cord around his body, resembling a massive furry boa constrictor.

Businessman to paint over Banksy artwork 'because he doesn't like art'
A DERELICT city centre building made famous by an urban graffiti artist sold at auction for almost £50,000 over the guide price.
The White House pub, on the corner of Berry Street, where Banksy painted a giant 30ft rat holding a marker pen, was bought for £114,000 yesterday.

Letzte Nacht ist einer der schillernsten Persönlichkeiten der deutschen Netzgemeinde freiwillig aus dem Leben geschieden. Günter Werner Freiherr von Gravenreuth hat sich letzte Nacht erschossen.
Um 01:15 Uhr schickte Günter Freiherr von Gravenreuth eine Abschiedsmail an all seine Kontakte. In seinem "letzten Gruß in die Runde" gab er bekannt, dass er sich nun mit einer scharfen Waffe umbringen würde. Die in der E-Mail genannten Motive für seinen Selbstmord sind sehr vielfältig aber alle privater Natur. Mittlerweile wurde uns die Tat von mehreren Seiten bestätigt.

Austrian army withdraws 'sexist' tank advert
The Austrian army has withdrawn a recruitment advertisement, which featured attractive young women chasing after a tank, begging for a "joy ride", after women's groups said the video was offensive.
To that end, the pun in the young soldier's question was "fully intended", an army spokesman admitted. "Our clip is so dorky it's brilliant," said Col Johann Millonig, from the army's marketing department.
