EU to ban selling eggs by dozen
Under the draft legislation, to come into force as early as next year, the sale of groceries using the simple measurement of numbers will be replaced by an EU-wide system based on weight.
It would mean an end to packaging descriptions such as eggs by the dozen, four-packs of apples, six bread rolls or boxes of 12 fish fingers.

A web designer from New York has revealed a home-made nuclear reactor which he's constructed himself in a Brooklyn warehouse.
Mark Suppes is said to be the 38th independent physicist in the word to achieve nuclear fusion from a self-built reactor.

From food to fashion, the thriving market in human hair
The trade in human hair is a growing - and very lucrative - market, with a new film by US comedian Chris Rock looking at the industry. But what can human hair be used for?
There's no such thing as a bad hair day for some people.
Not for the chef using it to get the perfect pizza crust, or the fashion designer charging up to £20,000 for clothes created using human hair. Certainly not for the hairdresser charging up to £2,500 for extensions.
Human hair is now big business in the UK and US and other parts of the world. It's also extremely lucrative for some. American comedian Chris Rock explores the international trade in his new documentary film Good Hair, released in this country on Friday.

Werner Herzog has teamed up with David Lynch
Werner Herzog's output has swung perilously close to mainstream of late. His 2006 Vietnam war action film Rescue Dawn was mostly well-received, while his Bad Lieutenant was released last month to widespread admiration. Has the famously idiosyncratic German director gone straight? Not a chance. His latest movie, which screens at the Edinburgh international film festival this week, sees him back on the fringes of artistic expression.

Nike Air Abuku
" we decided to create something based on the concept of air, the main quality of this model. What we did was keep the soles filled with air as is, but take off the upper part of the shoe and use it to mold a clear material into that shape. This became an aquarium for goldfish, a representative aquarium fish in Japan. What you can see from the relationship between a goldfish and air in this microcosm, a shoe, is the human society and the microcosm that contains it. "

"Futurezone": Name weg, Inhalte bleiben
