Extraterrestrials strafe Bosnian with meteorites
Radivoke Lajic, 50, said that his house being hit by rocks from space was the result of an extraterrestrial grudge.
"I am obviously being targeted by extraterrestrials," he said.
"I don't know what I have done to annoy them but there is no other explanation that makes sense.
"The chance of being hit by a meteorite is so small that getting hit six times has to be deliberate."

Haus wurde sechsmal von Meteoriten getroffen
Radivoje Lajic erlangte erstmals 2008 internationale Berühmtheit, kurz nachdem der bereits fünfte Meteorit in sein Hausdach im Dorf Gornji Lajici gekracht war. Jetzt traf das Dach erneut ein Meteorit, der somit seit 2007 der sechste ist.
Dass es sich bei der Erzählung des Bosniers um keinen Blödsinn handelt, bestätigen Experten der Universität von Belgrad, die jeden einzelnen Stein untersucht haben. Ihr Ergebnis: Alle Steine sind echt.

Der Teamleiter für Sonderprojekte bei Greenpeace Deutschland verfolgt die Tests der Stahlglocke über dem Ölleck im Golf von Mexiko erwartungsvoll. "Die spannende Frage ist, ob BP es schafft, auch auf die öffentliche Diskussion einen Deckel zu setzen und aus den Schlagzeilen zu kommen."

Forderungen des Bundes Deutscher Kriminalbeamter nach einer Ausweispflicht im Internet und einem «Reset-Knopf» hat der Chaos Computer Club (CCC) als albern zurückgewiesen. «Der kann mal seine Science-Fiction-Romane wieder einpacken», sagte CCC-Sprecherin Constanze Kurz mit Blick auf den BDK-Vorsitzende Klaus Jansen am Samstag der Nachrichtenagentur DAPD in Berlin. Selbstverständlich seien anonyme Räume im Netz notwendig. «Die Anonymität ist wichtig für die Meinungsbildung und die Informationsfreiheit.»

The word "miraculous" scarcely describes the survival of a Santa Maria, California police officer who wrapped his Ford Police Interceptor around a tree Sunday morning. It's what the local Police Chief calls the "worst accident he's seen in 35 years."
Sunday was a busy day for the members of the Santa Maria Police Department, starting with a police chase that resulted in a stolen car crashing into a first grade classroom of a local school. But that's not where this amazing crash happened.

A young designer has invented a revolutionary folding bicycle that will stop thieves in their tracks.
Kevin Scott, 21, designed the space-age bike that wraps around a lamp post so it can be locked-up safely - without the need for a lock or chain.
The De Montfort University graduate used a ratchet system built into the frame of the bike to allow it to wrap around a pole, enabling the lock to be wrapped through both wheels and the frame.

Italian lorry spills two million Euros in coins, motorists cash in
The truck overturned in Foggia, southern Italy, on Monday, shedding its contents all over the highway and leading motorists to hit the brakes and dig in.
Local police said on Tuesday that it was impossible to establish how much money had been stolen, as many of the €1 and €2 coins remained in piles on the highway.

Monkeys use trees to catapault themselves out of Japanese laboratory
A group of 15 monkeys at Kyoto University's primate research institute in Aichi Prefecture, which are the focus of a string of high-profile scientific studies, escaped from their forest home which is encased by a 17ft high electric fence.
The monkeys made their bid for freedom by using tree branches to fling themselves one by one over the high voltage electric fence located nearly three metres away.
