Eurozone crisis live: Focus shifts to Italy ahead of bond auctions
Pressure is building on eurozone's third-largest economy
• German finance minister says "Italy is not in danger" • Today's agenda
8.37am: Echoing Schäuble's comments that Italy is not in danger, the chief economist of the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development has also warned against a panic.
Pier Carlo Padoan said in an interview with Italian daily Il Messaggero:
There are no changes to the country's economic fundamentals that can justify an attack on Italy. Among OECD countries, Italy is one of the closest to a stabilisation of its debt. If there wasn't the contagion factor, steps taken so far towards recovery would be the right ones.
8.31am: Italy is not in danger, Germany's finance minister Wolfgang Schäuble has declared in an interview with Italian newspaper La Stampa. He says that Italy won't be the next "contaminated" country. "For Italy, no danger if it follows the path of Mountains," the headline reads. The question is, is he saying that because Germany doesn't want to bail out Italy as well?
Calling on Italian readers to provide a translation of the rest...

Austrian minister says Italy too may need bailout
Raising the stakes in Europe's debt crisis, Austria's finance minister said Italy may need a financial rescue because of its high borrowing costs, drawing a sharp denial on Tuesday from the Italian prime minister.
Maria Fekter's assessment of the euro zone's third largest economy stoked investors' fears that Europe is far from ending 2-1/2 years of turmoil - a feeling reinforced by Dutch Finance Minister Jan Kees de Jager, who said the euro zone was "still far from stable".

Romanian gang attempt to rob moving truck
In a scene reminiscent of Hollywood movie The Fast and The Furious, a gang of thieves are caught attempting to break into a moving truck on a motorway in Romania.
Police from Romania's Department for Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) filmed the gang as they attempted to rob a lorry while it was speeding along a motorway at night.
Positioning their car just inches behind the moving truck, two gang members climb out of the sunroof. One manoeuvres himself onto the bonnet as the other holds onto his legs.

Some Flame code found in Stuxnet virus-experts
Two leading computer security firms have linked some of the software code in the powerful Flame virus to the Stuxnet cyber weapon, which was widely believed to have been used by the United States and Israel to attack Iran's nuclear program.
Eugene Kaspersky, chief executive of Moscow-based Kaspersky Lab, which uncovered Flame last month, said at the Reuters Global Media and Technology Summit on Monday his researchers have since found that part of the Flame program code is nearly identical to code found in a 2009 version of Stuxnet.

British Prime Minister Forgets His 8-Year-Old Daughter And Leaves Her In Pub
A mix-up after a family lunch meant eight-year-old Nancy was left alone at the Plough Inn in Cadsden 'for about 15 minutes'
David Cameron left his eight-year-old daughter in the pub following a Sunday lunch, after a mix-up with his wife Samantha, Downing Street has admitted.
The couple's daughter Nancy wandered off to the toilets while they were arranging lifts and they only realised she was not with them when they got home, the Sun said.
The prime minister rushed back to the Plough Inn in Cadsden, Buckinghamshire, where he found his daughter with staff.

Lauryn Hill Versus The Military-Industrial Complex
For the past several years, I have remained what others would consider underground. I did this in order to build a community of people, like-minded in their desire for freedom and the right to pursue their goals and lives without being manipulated and controlled by a media protected military industrial complex with a completely different agenda. Having put the lives and needs of other people before my own for multiple years, and having made hundreds of millions of dollars for certain institutions, under complex and sometimes severe circumstances, I began to require growth and more equitable treatment, but was met with resistance. I entered into my craft full of optimism (which I still possess), but immediately saw the suppressive force with which the system attempts to maintain it’s control over a given paradigm. I’ve seen people promote addiction, use sabotage, black listing, media bullying and any other coercion technique they could, to prevent artists from knowing their true value, or exercising their full power. These devices of control, no matter how well intentioned (or not), can have a devastating outcome on the lives of people, especially creative types who must grow and exist within a certain environment and according to a certain pace, in order to live and create optimally…

European ISPs Lobby ITU Against Net Neutrality
Service providers say they should have the right to charge for better service
European ISPs have asked the ITU to guarantee service providers’ right to charge more for guaranteed service levels, against the wishes of those lobbying for Net Neutrality.
Governments including that of the Netherlands have passed laws banning the creation of a so-called “two-tier Internet”, in order to prevent service providers choking rival services. However, the European Telecommunications Network Operators Association (ETNO) has argued that the ability to charge for differentiated service is essential and urged the UN’s telecoms body to enshrine the principle in new international regulations.
