Incredible Footage Shows a Perseid Meteor Exploding
Personally, I’ve never seen anything like this, and photographer and digital artist Michael K. Chung said he couldn’t believe what he saw when he was processing images he took for a timelapse of the Perseid meteor shower. It appears he captured a meteor explosion and the resulting expansion of a shock wave or debris ring.
“It was taken early in the morning on August 12, 2013 from my backyard in Victorville, CA,” Michael told Universe Today via email. “The fade to white is NOT an edit- it is overexposure due to the sun coming up. From what I can tell, the timelapse sequence of the explosion and expanding debris span an actual time of approximately 20 minutes.”

Europe’s marijuana capital isn’t Amsterdam
GJIROKASTRA, Albania — The last time police tried to enter the mountainside village of Lazarat near this historic southern city last summer, they prompted a ferocious firefight a local police commissioner describes as “very much like a real war.”
Speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of being ostracized, he said he was part of a special forces operation during which sniper units occupied high ground as SWAT teams moved in to arrest a handful of people working in fields surrounding the village.

NSA broke privacy rules thousands of times per year, audit finds
The National Security Agency has broken privacy rules or overstepped its legal authority thousands of times each year since Congress granted the agency broad new powers in 2008, according to an internal audit and other top-secret documents.
Most of the infractions involve unauthorized surveillance of Americans or foreign intelligence targets in the United States, both of which are restricted by statute and executive order. They range from significant violations of law to typographical errors that resulted in unintended interception of U.S. e-mails and telephone calls.

A Lego Set for Budding Architects, With No Instructions
Architecture Studio, a new set from Lego, comes with 1,210 white and translucent bricks. More notable is what it lacks: namely, instructions for any single thing you’re supposed to build with it. Instead, the kit is accompanied by a thick, 277-page guidebook filled with architectural concepts and building techniques alongside real world insights from prominent architecture studios from around the globe. In other words, this box o’ bricks is a little different. Where past Lego products might have had the happy ancillary effect of nurturing youngsters’ interest in architecture, here, that’s the entire point.

Prince Starts Using Twitter
Prince, the artist formerly known as distrustful of the internet, has come to the dark side. As of last night, he's now an active user of that thing called Twitter, posting messages from the account of his group 3rd Eye Girl. His approach thus far is that of any self-respecting Twitter user (just kidding, no such thing): part self-promotional, part funny. My favorite is, "1st selfie #selfie" which just links to a photo of smoke. Now we just need to get Jennifer Lawrence signed up for this thing.

Freaking Saman, you did it again!! You make me woke up from bed to congratulate you (apparently you can't really write comments from the Vimeo App). I would call this another creative "Home Run". I hope the day to collaborate together on a project is getting closer. You really remind me that creativity has no boundaries and it's a great way to make a living.
Great work men!
