Peachy Printer's sub-$100 3D printer smashes fundraising goal
While the cost of 3D printers are coming down, it's unlikely we'll start to see them invade everyone's homes 'til they become much cheaper. That's the idea, at least, behind the Peachy Printer, a device that's promising to retail for less than $100. Unlike printers made by companies such as Makerbot, Peachy uses a laser to set objects from liquid resin. The laser is guided by a pair of mirrors that take instructions from your PC's audio in / out ports, and the system even allows you to scan objects with your own camera.

South Colombia man has penis amputated after Viagra overdose
The 66-year old man from the tiny town of Gigante, Huila, confessed to the local newspaper he had overdosed on Viagra in an attempt to please his new girlfriend.
However, as a result of his overly enthusiastic penis-enhancing-drug use, the anonymous man — who claims to be a former member of the Gigante municipal council — found that his penis had gone into an apparently constant state of erection.

Dinosaur Feathers Found in Ancient Amber
Fluffy structures trapped in thumbnail-sized bits of ancient amber may represent some of the earliest evolutionary experiments leading to feathers, according to a new study. These filaments of "dinofuzz" are so well preserved that they even provide hints of color, the researchers say.
The oldest bird, Archaeopteryx, lived in what is now Germany about 150 million years ago, and the oldest known feathered dinosaur, Anchiornis huxleyi, lived in northeastern China between 151 million and 161 million years ago.

Chaos Computer Club hackt Apple TouchID
Hackern des Biometrie-Teams des Chaos Computer Clubs (CCC) ist es gelungen, die biometrischen Sicherheitsfunktionen des Apple TouchID mit einfachsten Mitteln zu umgehen. Dazu genügte den Hackern ein Fingerabdruck, welchen sie von einer Glasoberfläche abfotographierten, um einen künstlichen Finger zu erzeugen. Damit waren sie in der Lage, ein iPhone 5s zu entsperren, welches mit TouchID geschützt war. Damit demonstrierten die Hacker wieder einmal, daß biometrische Daten zur Verhinderung eines unberechtigten Zugriffs vollkommen ungeeignet sind.
