ACTA: "Keine Verpflichtung zu Netzsperren"


EU-Handelskommissar Karel de Gucht hat sich in der Debatte um das umstrittene Anti-Piraterie-Abkommen ACTA gegen die Verpflichtung zu Netzsperren nach wiederholten Urheberrechtsvergehen ausgesprochen. Unterdessen ist eine Liste von Ländern durchgesickert, die sich gegen die Veröffentlichung von Verhandlungsdokumenten wehren.

Giant iceberg breaks off from Antarctic glacier


An iceberg the size of Luxembourg has broken off from a glacier in Antarctica after being rammed by another giant iceberg, scientists said on Friday, in an event that could affect ocean circulation patterns.

Visitors evacuated as Dubai's shark aquarium cracks open


An aquarium and a shopping centre in Dubai have been evacuated after water leaked from a massive tank holding hundreds of sharks.

Safety officials said the "small crack" appeared in the tank which holds 10 million litres of water and more than 33,000 underwater creatures.

Man with 'world's longest hair', Tran Van Hay, dies in Vietnam


Tran Van Hay is thought to have had hair up to 6.8 metres long, although it had never been officially measured for a record attempt. It stretched in a thick, matted cord around his body, resembling a massive furry boa constrictor.
