Don't Panic: DIY portable Wikipedia as Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Hack
This Instructable will set out how to construct what I believe to be a unique implementation of Wikipedia in an offline, portable device. It involves installing a stripped-down distribution of Linux on a Psion 5mx handheld, and installing a static HTML version of Wikipedia for use with one of two browsers. Most importantly, you do not have to be a Linux wizard to achieve this. I will assume a basic familiarity with computers, but you do not need experience with the intricacies of filing systems, compiling source code and the stuff that traditionally puts people off using Linux.

Unplug The Drug - How to stay very, very dumb
It's a fact: TV sitcoms destroy your brain. But what else can you do with all that unused mental power?
It's one of the most powerful and disorienting and disturbing feelings I've ever known and perhaps the very best reason I can think of that I now watch very little mainstream TV, much less sitcoms, much less those howlingly soul-deadening laugh-tracked things featuring Kelsey Grammar or Charlie Sheen or maybe that enormous guy from "Everybody Loves Raymond," shows that make your soul curdle like fresh soy milk in the sun. It's also the sole reason I've trained myself to instantly mute all TV commercials when they appear and turn my gaze from their grisly carnage lest their death lasers of hyperbranded idiocy penetrate my flesh and make me impotent and encephalitic and Republican.

New Tests Show Rootkits Still Evade AV
Rootkits are still a security scanner’s worst nightmare: New rootkit detection tests recently conducted by AV-Test.org found that security suites and online Web scanners detected overall only a little more than half of rootkits.
AV-Test.org, an indie security test organization based in Germany, ran two rootkit tests last month, one on Microsoft’s XP Home Edition and another on Microsoft Vista Ultimate Edition, the results of which have been published in a paper now available on the group’s Website.

BSA Study Shows Software Piracy Declining in Many Countries
The results from the Business Software Alliance's fifth-annual study on global software piracy revealed some statistics that would put a smile on any software company executive's face: Of the 108 countries that are covered in the recently released report, the use of pirated software dropped in 67 countries. In just eight countries did the piracy rate increase.
