Veteran gets cake after 50 years
It took more than half a century, but William Bourne finally received the dessert delivery he was promised by the mother of a Korean War comrade.
This week, a chocolate cake arrived at his home in the northeast Ohio town of East Liverpool, brought by the son of Ed Charvat, with whom Bourne served in the Army's 1st Cavalry Division.

An 80-year-old Chinese man has washed his hair for the first time in 26 years. Shampoo had little effect on Luo Shiyuan's matted 6ft long hair and 5ft beard so the whole family pitched in with washing powder.

Police Chief Writes Himself Ticket
Village of Kewaskum Police Chief Richard Knoebel said he was driving to work when he became distracted by a truck stopping on one side of the street.
He said he didn't see a school bus with its lights flashing and a stop sign out on the other side of the four-lane road.
When he realized what he had done, he issued himself a $235 ticket.
