Sexy image 'not for display'


THE image at the centre of a row over J.Boag & Sons' latest advertising campaign was never going to appear on billboards or posters, the Tasmanian brewer says.

The photograph of a scantily-clad woman grasping the neck of a beer bottle as a man reaches to expose her breast was published by Boag's in a commemorative album, sales director Lyndon Adams said yesterday.

Man Catches 6-Foot, 135-Pound Bull Shark


Call it the catch of the day. Seafood merchant Richard Durrett was fishing Tuesday morning on the Red River when his catfish net dredged up something a little larger than the average catfish - a 6-foot, 135-pound bull shark.

"I've been fishing since I was 10 years old, and I've caught some strange fish, but nothing like this," the 35-year-old said Wednesday. "Things happen, but I wasn't ready for this."

French 'Spiderman' climbs 59-storey office building with bare hands


A French urban climber who calls himself "Spiderman" scaled a 59-storey Paris office building Wednesday with his bare hands and without using any ropes.

Alain Robert took less than 45 minutes to climb the 213-metre-tall Montparnasse Tower building, gripping the metal girders on his way up. At the top, he waved to a small crowd that gathered on the ground, some shouting "Allez, Alain!", or "Go, Alain!"

Women Allegedly Try to Force Man to Wed


Four women were briefly detained for allegedly seizing a man they were trying to force to marry a former girlfriend he impregnated, police said Thursday.

The 22-year-old man told police the 16-year-old ex-girlfriend, her mother, sister and aunt approached him Tuesday outside the food processing plant where he works and forced him into a taxi.

Ruins from giant Nazi beach resort sold in Germany


Ruins from a massive vacation resort built by the Nazis on the Baltic island Ruegen were sold at auction to an anonymous buyer for 625,000 euros (768,000 dollars).

The concrete-block lodgings, built in the 1930s to accommodate some 20,000 people under the Nazis' Kraft Durch Freude (Strength Through Joy) leisure program, stretches 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles) along one of Germany's most beautiful sandy beaches.
