CAT STEVENS DEPORTED
Peace activist and singer/songwriter Cat Stevens is being deported from the US after being denied entry because his name appeared on a security "watch list".
A transatlantic flight he was travelling on to Washington DC was diverted under FBI orders and the former pop star was escorted from the plane.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said the singer was denied access to the US "on national security grounds" and would be returned to Britain later today.

Lawmaker Margaret May is all shook up.
The Queensland state legislator has pressed the flesh with so many voters in the first two weeks of campaigning for Australia's Oct. 9 election she has damaged tendons in her wrist and thumb and needs surgery to fix them.
"Being a woman, you shake men's hands all the time and they've got hard and very strong handshakes," said May, who was first elected in 1998. "In a campaign you would shake hundreds everyday."

Trooper pens 205 mph ticket in Minnesota
With a State Patrol airplane overhead, a motorcyclist hit the throttle and possibly set the informal record for the fastest speeding ticket in Minnesota history: 205 mph.
On Saturday afternoon, State Patrol pilot Al Loney was flying near Wabasha, in southeastern Minnesota on the Wisconsin border, watching two motorcyclists racing along U.S. Highway 61.
When one of the riders shot forward, Loney was ready with his stopwatch. He clicked it once when the motorcycle reached a white marker on the road and again a quarter-mile later. The watch read 4.39 seconds, which Loney calculated to be 205 mph.
