40-jähriger Raubkopierer mit tausenden von Raubkopien gefasst
Wie berichtet wird, wurden in Rüsselsheim in der Wohnung eines 40-jährigen Raubkopierers insgesamt über 550 Raubkopien in Form von DVDs und CDs und 7.700 Videokassetten, wovon 50 Prozent mit Raubkopien bespielt waren, beschlagnahmt.

Demolition crews destroy bridge on mistake
It's an explosion that worked a little too well.
Demolition crews set off charges yesterday intending to bring down one section of an old bridge across the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau, Missouri. But a crowd of onlookers gasped as the explosion took out the rest of the bridge, too.

Loch Ness-like monster now fair game
Sweden's Great Lake Monster, the mythical inhabitant of Storsjon lake, will soon be fair game for hunters and curio seekers as its protected status is about to be lifted, local authorities said Wednesday.
Named after the stretch of water it inhabits ("Storsjon" means Great Lake), the monster is Sweden's answer to Scotland's Loch Ness Monster, Norway's "Selma" and Argentina's "Nahuelito."

Anstatt des erhofften Fisches hat ein Angler am Bodensee bei Friedrichshafen ein Schweinchen an der Angel gehabt. Er holte das mittlerweile entkräftete Tier aus dem Wasser.

Eighth Governor Gets Suspicious Letter
Boston's Governor Mitt Romney, received a letter bearing a return address from the same security prison in Nevada that was the source of other mysterious letters.
Governor's offices in Montana, Texas, Idaho, Nebraska, Wasington and Utah received letters on Thursday. They were rigged to ignite when opened by the use of matches.
No reports of injuries in any of the incidents. All letters were postmarked from the Ely State Prison in Nevada. Two inmates whose names were on the envelopes are being questioned.

The Tribune Co. mistakenly placed $301,000 of a former Chicago Cubs player into the account of former newspaper carrier. Both the carrier and Cubs ball player are named Mark Guthrie.

Kuh riss aus und landete in Swimmingpool
Die zu Ende gehende Freibadesaison nützte eine Kuh gestern unfreiwillig in Oberösterreich: Sie verließ ihre Weide in Kopfing im Bezirk Schärding und landete im Swimmingpool des benachbarten Gartens. Erst mit schwerem Gerät konnte die Kuh geborgen werden.
