Saddam relatives applied for asylum in Sweden
While the US is hunting for close relatives of the ex-dictator Saddam Hussein in Iraq, central family members have allegedly received political asylum in Sweden.
According to the Swedish paper Expressen, two of Saddam’s cousins are allegedly living in a Swedish city. An Iraqi intelligence source, the paper has been in contact with, states that both of cousins left from their hometown Tikrit to Jordan two years ago.

Letzter Schliff für neues 9/11?
In den USA steigt erneut die Angst vor Anschlägen. Nach einem Geheimtreffen der Führungsriege des Terrornetzwerkes El Kaida schrillen die Alarmglocken: Ein neuer Großanschlag oder eine Anschlagserie wie am 11. September könnte bei dem Treffen "auf Schiene gebracht" worden sein. Die Angst scheint nicht unbegründet. Rund ein Jahr vor den 9/11-Attacken hatte es ebenfalls ein geheimes El-Kaida-Treffen gegeben.

Australian fined for biting off mouse's tail to win pub competition
A remorseful man was shocked to learn he had bitten the tail off a live mouse while drunk to win a pub competition, a court was told Tuesday. Competition organizers gave McGee a drinks voucher for 100 Australian dollars ($95) before the competition started and he downed bourbon and beer for six hours before competing.

Kids Plus Rocks Equals 120,000 Angry Bees
Kids throwing rocks stirred up more trouble than they bargained for when they dislodged a swarm of bees from an enormous hive built in the wall of a Southern California apartment building, authorities said on Friday.
An estimated 120,000 bees held residents of the apartment building and nearby homes hostage in Santa Ana, California after the children pelted their 500 pound (227 kg) hive with rocks on Thursday, Santa Ana Fire Captain Steve Horner said.
