Users bash gov't pot
Seed quality, grower's know-how to blame?

Complaints from patients about the second batch of government-certified marijuana to come out of Flin Flon has prompted Winnipeg pot advocates to blame poor quality seeds and inexperienced growers. Health Canada made changes in its grow operation after authorized medicinal marijuana users grumbled about the quality and potency of the initial harvest last summer.

Yet the second batch is also receiving bad reviews.

Suspect's uncle slain after cop apparently mistakes soda can for gun.

A Denver police officer likely mistook a soda can for a weapon before shooting and killing a 63-year-old man in his bed, Police Chief Gerry Whitman said Monday.

First the church, then the steeple, then 'your logo here'

Over the past decade, giant commercial billboards have changed the look of many European cities. Whether at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate or Rome's Trevi Fountain, ads on historic structures have become a key way to finance their repair.

But Germany has taken the trend to new - and controversial - heights. In Frankfurt, the scaffolding of the famed 15th-century Gothic steeple of Bartholomew Cathedral now sports a Panasonic poster.

Google's Next Steps

After Google aquired Picasa, and new rumours on Google's video search plans surface, here are my predictions of what we will see next at Google:

Gmessenger - A free and unobtrusive chat client, competing with AIM, MSNM, YIM, et al.

Google Videos - Search through videos; see thumbnail image previews.

Google Audio - Find music online.

Gmail Public - Google's service stepping out of Beta and going public. August 1st sounds like a good date.
