American Segue :: America at 10 MPH
On August 5, a solo Segway rider and crew will depart Seattle, WA to begin a 10 MPH expedition to Boston, MA in pursuit of the American Dream. We're going to produce an ongoing online documentary - like you've never seen before - featuring daily video and audio stories about fellow Americans' and their own American Dream. And when we're finished, we'll wrap it up with a feature-length documentary.

eBay to allow digital music downloads
eBay is conducting a 180-day pilot in the Music category with pre-approved sellers of downloadable digital music files. During the pilot, only pre-approved sellers will be able to list in eBay’s Digital Downloads category. After 180 days, eBay will evaluate the pilot and determine whether to enable other copyright owners or resellers of downloadable media to list in eBay’s Digital Downloads category if they meet certain criteria. Approved sellers in this pilot have represented to eBay that they are the rights owner or have contractual permission from the rights owner to resell the listed media. A buyer of downloadable media through eBay cannot re-list or resell the media on eBay.

Bidders offer millions for Beckham penalty miss ball from Euro 2004
David Beckham's errant penalty kick in the shootout of the Euro 2004 quarter-final against Portugal was costly for England.
But the ball the soccer star blazed into the stands on June 24 is proving even costlier. It has attracted a bid of 10 million euros ($16.3 million Cdn) on an Internet auction site and promises to make a multimillionaire of the Spaniard who caught it in the stands.

The referee's a doctor
Italian referee Pierluigi Collina - probably the world's best known sporting official - has been awarded an honorary degree in the UK.
Mr Collina, 44, becomes a Doctor of Science for his contribution to the world of sport, following a 27-year career in football.

Police are looking for naked people in the park acting like chickens
The Fremont Police Department responded to two reports of naked people in city parks early this morning.
The first call came in shortly after midnight.
Police said the caller alleged two naked men were running around Clemmons Park clucking and waving their arms like chickens.

Michael Moore, The New Leni Riefenstahl?
Lest ye panic, I am not quite ready to draw evil comparisons with the above regimes and today's Democratic party. I'm just asking this question. Has Michael Moore crossed the propagandist’s line? You can decide, but the similarities are too pronounced to ignore. Just as Riefenstahl had claimed to be politically unaffiliated, Moore claims to not be a Democrat. But voter registration records in New York show that he'd registered there as a Democrat in the 1990's.
