What is Damn Small Linux?
Damn Small Linux is a business card size (50MB) bootable Live CD Linux DEBIAN distribution. Despite its minuscule size it strives to have a functional and easy to use desktop.
Why? Because having a working Linux desktop distro on a 50 mb bootable business card CD is just too cool not to do.

On a Wing and a Wiki
When burglars brought down the Internet link to Ziff Davis' Manhattan offices, open-source software—and Sean Gallagher's personal Web server—kept eWEEK.com's stories flowing.
For about six hours yesterday, the staff of eWEEK.com was treated to a lesson in emergency improvisation. But thanks to 123 lines of Python code, running on a $7-a-month personal Web site on an Apache Web server somewhere in California, you probably didn't notice.

Never used Tactile 12000, but it's supposed to be OK, and it's free
tactile12000.sourceforge.net
Similarly, have heard good things about mixmeister, but never used it, and it's not free www.mixmeister.com

419ers crack cold fusion
Since they already have a man in space, it should come as no surprise that our old mates from Lagos have pulled off an even more impressive feat - cold fusion. Well, it was actually the brilliant Nigerian physicist Koffi Abacha, who sadly died in the obligatory mysterious plane crash.
However, his work looks promising, and for just $10,000 you can buy yourself into the energy revolution. Read on:

DRM 'will be cracked' says iTunes hacker
According to the Australian researcher who cracked the authentication used by Apple's iTunes software, current-generation Digital Rights Management (DRM) will never work.
David Hammerton, a 20-year-old Arts-Science student, reverse-engineered iTunes' authentication measures last week, allowing non-iTunes clients to connect to Apple's servers. It was the second time he had managed to crack the authentication, however this time it took him just eight hours to break the brand-new iTunes 4.5, which had been patched against his previous research.

Grass routes
Copenhagen's 'free state' of Christiania is under threat. Matthew Tempest visits the hippy enclave and finds it's still rolling on. Christiania - the communal enclave founded out of the squatting movement in the early 1970s - regards itself as a "free state" within Denmark; so much so that as you leave the leafy quarter of lakes, shared warehouses, coffeeshops, bicycle shops and vegetarian restaurants, an archway sign warns you that "You are now entering the EU."

Disney Forbidding Distribution of Film That Criticizes Bush
The Walt Disney Company is blocking its Miramax division from distributing a new documentary by Michael Moore that harshly criticizes President Bush, executives at both Disney and Miramax said Tuesday.
The film, "Fahrenheit 911," links Mr. Bush and prominent Saudis — including the family of Osama bin Laden — and criticizes Mr. Bush's actions before and after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
