Fight Back Against Spammers!
WWW Robots (also called wanderers or spiders) are programs that traverse pages in the Web by recursively retrieving linked pages. When a spammer's robot visits your website, blog, discussion forum, etc, they will check all the pages that you link to for email addresses.

KIWI SLANG
This collection of New Zealand slang and colloquialisms was sourced partly from a project I did for 7th Form English, and the remainder from 'A Dictionary of Kiwi Slang' by David McGill. It is difficult to pin down exactly what phrases are of New Zealand origin and what aren't, especially due to the similarities between New Zealand and Australia.

In China wurden 8.600 Internet-Cafes geschlossen
Um die chinesischen Medien besser kontrollieren zu können, hat die chinesische Regierung im letzten Oktober ein Erziehungsprogramm gestartet, dem in den letzten zwei Monaten 8.600 Internet-Cafes zum Opfer fielen.
Kulturminister Sun Jiazheng startete die Kampagne, die auch eine landesweite Aktionswoche gegen die unkontrollierte Nutzung des Internets beinhaltet, die nach seinen Angaben noch einige Zeit andauern wird.

Nach der niederländischen UPC blockieren Nigeria-Spammer nun die spanische Telefónica.
Wer bei der spanischen Telefongesellschaft Telefónica Internet-Kunde ist, wird momentan seine E-Mails oft nicht mehr los: Fast alle IP-Adressen der Telefónica sind auf Spam-Blacklists gelandet, weil die Nigeria-Spammer nun spanische Internet-Cafés unsicher machen.

No Gay Marriages in AUS
Australian Prime Minister John Howard has proposed changing the marriage act in Australia to include the definition that marriage must be between a man an a woman.
The move would also prevent gay couples from getting married overseas and having their certificates recognised in Australia.

Weil er die Kaution für einen Wohnheimplatz nicht bezahlen konnte, hat ein New Yorker Student acht Monate im Keller der Universitätsbibliothek gewohnt.

Automat spuckt Gratisgeld
In Tesco hat ein Geldautomat 20-Pfund-Scheine mit 10-Pfund-Noten verwechselt. Somit kam es zu einem unvorhergesehenen Geldsegen für jene Menschen, die den Automaten nutzten. Nach kurzer Zeit hatte es sich herumgesprochen und sich eine Schlange gebildet.
Jeder durfte dreimal abheben. Danach hieß es wieder hinten anstellen. Über welchen Zeitraum der Geldrausch lief, ist unbekannt, aber vermutlich bis der Bankomat leer war.

Secret Service questions student on drawings
Secret Service agents questioned a high school student about anti-war drawings he did for an art class, one of which depicted President Bush's head on a stick.
Another pencil-and-ink drawing portrayed Bush as a devil launching a missile, with a caption reading "End the war -- on terrorism."

Anti-Bush-Bilder
Ein 15-jähriger Junge aus Prosser (US-Bundesstaat Washington) wurde von Secret-Service-Beamten vernommen, nachdem er Bilder gemalt hatte, die sich gegen den Präsidenten George W. Bush richteten.
Ein Bild zeigt beispielsweise Bush als Teufel, wie er gerade dabei ist, eine Rakete abzufeuern. Ein Kunstlehrer hatte die Zeichnungen der Schulbehörde vorgelegt, die dann wiederum die Polizei alarmierten.
Zu einer Festnahme ist es aber nicht gekommen, jedoch erhielt der Junge eine Bestrafung von der Schule. Wie sich diese äußerte, wurde noch nicht bekannt gegeben.
