Iraq-Russia spy link uncovered SECRET FILES: Documents reveal Iraqi agents trained in Moscow
PROOF THAT RUSSIA TRAINED IRAQI SPIES!!!! A graduation certificate (what real spy agency gives those out?) given by Russia to Iraqi spies, luckily printed in English, to make sure the suckers in the US know what it is supposed to be. A Moscow-based organization was training Iraqi intelligence agents as recently as last September -- at the same time Russia was resisting the Bush administration's push for a tough stand against Saddam Hussein's regime, Iraqi documents discovered by The Chronicle show.

Humungous fungus: world's largest organism?
The discovery of the world's largest fungus - up to 8,500 years old and carperting nearly 10 square kilometres of forest floor - has raised questions about what constitutes an individual organism.
A study of a tree-killing fungus in rugged northeast Oregon, USA, found that a single individual covered an area equivalent to about 1,600 football fields.

So that explains the smile
La Gioconda aka Mona Lisa turns 500
The most famous painting in history celebrates her 500th birthday this year. Over the centuries, Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa has been denounced as a femme fatale, celebrated as the paragon of womanhood, inspired three suicides, and survived a theft. Yet that serene smile staring at us behind bulletproof glass in Paris's Louvre museum remains mysterious.
But now on the painting's quincentenary, the mystery of the smile may have been solved: Mona Lisa was pregnant.

Students make 'E' to pay off their loans
High flying science graduates are paying off student loans by manufacturing ecstasy and other synthetic drugs for organised gangs, the Observer can reveal.
Strict controls over the sale and importation of the ingredients needed to make ecstasy have led the gangs in charge of the multi-million pound trade to turn to chemistry students who can divert the substances from their legitimate research.

How can I know someone uses Marijuana?

U.S. Marines have uncovered an underground vault containing the detailed files of Saddam Hussein's secret police.
Under the headquarters of the Special Security Organization, run by Saddam's most trusted son, Qusay, the Marines found a massive complex of offices over an area the size of two football fields, littered with millions of documents — detailed records that stretch back more than three decades.

Convicts make drizzling escape
Fifteen inmates have escaped from a prison near Kampala, Uganda, after using water and urine to weaken the prison walls. On Friday, Mary Kaddu, a spokesperson for the Prison Service, said: "This prison is very very old. The walls are very weak and the cells very small. These men must have used urine and water to weaken the spot where they escaped through. They must have coordinated their move ... they must have planned this for a very long time," Kaddu said.

Inside the Secret World
Snapshots and papers found in a lavish, looted safe house paint a vivid picture of Saddam's unhappy eldest son Uday. It's not easy being the freeloading, oversexed, overlooked scion of an Iraqi dictator. Consider Uday Hussein, 39, who in 1990 wrote to an uncle, "It is difficult being in the family of Hussein. People want to kill us."
