Noted War Blogger Cops to Copying

Like any number of webloggers trying to make their mark with commentary on the war in Iraq, Sean-Paul Kelley knew geography and career experience didn't favor him.

Kelley -- the man behind the wildly popular site The Agonist -- lives in Texas, worlds away from the war's front lines. And his reporting résumé added up to a mere three weeks at a local paper. Still, for the last few weeks, he had managed to post several dozen war-related news items a day on his site. The only problem: Much of his material was plagiarized -- lifted word-for-word from a paid news service put out by Austin, Texas, commercial intelligence company Stratfor.

"You got me, I admit it.... I made a mistake," Kelley said. "It was stupid."

Tellers laugh robber out of bank

Police say they aren't sure what charge is appropriate for a man arrested after tellers laughed him out of a bank he apparently tried to rob.

"Put the money in the bag," he demanded.

Instead, one of the two tellers told him the bank was out of money, and the other teller laughed and offered the man deposit slips. She told police that made the intruder angry, and he left without any money in his bag.

Toilet Training Goes Faster If Time is Right

Study finds little benefit in starting before 27 months Starting to toilet train your children before the age of 27 months probably isn't a good idea because it takes longer and offers no real benefit, a new study says.

Happily, most parents seem to know that already, doctors at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia found. In their study of 378 parents of toddlers, the average age when intensive toilet training was started was 28.7 months.

Ferrari owners feel victimised by police

Members of the New Zealand Ferrari Owners Club say they feel "targeted and victimised" after a run-in with the law near Nelson. Twenty-six Ferraris, and their owners, converged on the town during the weekend for their annual meeting.

Club secretary Graham Morris said the weekend was a great success but "police in Motueka were out to get us and stopped two cars for not having front number plates."
