Anti-American Sentiment Grows Over War in Iraq
They were seen as the "good cops" who saved West Berlin, defended Western Europe during the Cold War and put an end to the bloodshed in the Balkans -- but the Iraq war has left that image of the United States in shreds.
The erstwhile defenders of freedom and democracy are now more likely to be viewed by their allies around the world as war-mongering imperialists, "bad cops" and "bullies" who lost their way by brushing aside the United Nations and attacking Iraq.

Bush puts God on his side
Before September 11, President George W Bush kept his evangelical Christian beliefs largely to himself. He had turned to God at the age of 40 as a way of kicking alcoholism, and his faith had kept him on the straight and narrow ever since, giving him the drive to reach the White House.
But all that changed on the day of the attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center.
Those close to Mr Bush say that day he discovered his life's mission.

Sniper Suspect Bragged to Police
Washington-area sniper suspect Lee Boyd Malvo bragged about his shooting prowess, taunted investigators and said he shot some victims in the head for horrific effect, according to a newspaper report.
The story in The Washington Post, prepared for Sunday editions, was based on partial transcripts of Malvo's taped remarks to investigators and a memo that summarizes parts of the interview after Malvo's arrest.

Secret UK stealth plane project revealed
The existence of a secret programme to produce Britain's own stealth plane has been revealed with the declassification of a single photograph and a short statement.
The craft pictured is full-scale model and was completed in 1999, after five years of work. The £20 million programme, codenamed Replica, was jointly funded by BAE Systems and the UK Ministry of Defence.
