Is someone watching you?
This pocket-sized Camera Detector will warn you if hidden cameras are watching you. Easy to use and about the size of a cigarette lighter, this privacy protector’s job is to sweep the room looking for the presence of wireless camera frequencies, ranging from 50 MHz – 3 GHz. When a camera is discovered, an LED light flickers, and an audible alarm sounds.

U.S. Puts Secretive Special Forces in Spotlight
Dramatic footage of U.S. special forces raiding an Iraqi presidential palace and dam has turned the spotlight on secretive elite units who usually stay in the shadows.
The U.S. military on Thursday showed reporters grainy black and green video footage it had shot of two recent night raids by the heavily armed troops.
In one film, combining aerial and ground shots, an aircraft shoots at enemy positions on the ground as a helicopter drops troops near the turreted wall of what military officials said was one of President Saddam Hussein's residences.

U.S. Troops Attack Baghdad Airport
U.S. troops attacked Baghdad's international airport Thursday night after pushing through the outskirts of the darkened capital.
Tracer rounds, anti-aircraft fire and artillery blasted near Saddam International Airport, 10 miles southwest of the city center, and officers of the 3rd Infantry Division, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the attack on the airport had begun.
Large sections of Baghdad lost power for the first time since the war began after huge explosions rocked the capital.

USB FLOPPY DISK STRIPED RAID UNDER OS X
Why not? I had just set up my 2 firewire drives and thought, "Can I RAID USB Floppy DRIVES"? I happen to work for Y-E DATA which is one of the worlds largest manufacturers of USB Floppy Drives, so I have access to these things. I had just been going through a pile of returns testing the drives for failure. There are always a few that are fine though, so I got 5 of them for this very important scientific feat.

Cell Phone Reaches 30th 'Birthday'
Standing on a sidewalk across from the Hilton hotel in mid-town Manhattan 30 years ago today, Martin Cooper did something never done before.
To the bewilderment of passers-by, the Motorola project manager held a 2- pound box of wires and circuits to his ear and started talking into it -- becoming the first person to place a public call on a handheld cellular telephone.

Riesenkrake in antarktischen Gewässern gefangen

Haider bietet irakischem Minister Asyl an

Austria's Haider Offers Iraqi Minister Asylum
Austrian far-right leader Joerg Haider, a vocal backer of Iraq against the United States, offered asylum in his Alpine province to Iraq's foreign minister in an interview published on Thursday. Haider, a long-time friend of Foreign Minister Naji Sabri and a harsh critic of U.S. policy in the Middle East, was asked if Sabri could count on refuge in Carinthia, where Haider is governor, if the Iraqi leadership is forced to flee.
"There is always room in my home for a friend," Haider told the Austrian magazine News. The two have been friends since Sabri was ambassador in Vienna in the 1990s.

Brain Scan Suggests Hussein High On Hash
Saddam Hussein's regime may be going up in smoke -- pot smoke to be exact. That's the word from a woman in Lakewood, Ohio, who claims she made that discovery while "brain surfing" Hussein's head.
The treatment seems to be a treat. Garabrant says Iraqi doctors are using medical marijuana and hashish to soothe Saddam, who is lying flat on his back on a Persian-style carpet.

Deep sea monster squid found
A rare and dangerous squid with eyes the size of dinner plates and scores of razor-sharp hooks to snag its prey has been caught by fishermen off Antarctica, New Zealand scientists said on Thursday.
The half-grown female colossal squid is only the second intact example of the monster cephalopod known to have been found, said marine biologist Steve O'Shea of New Zealand's national museum.
