Eine nicht gerade neue Technologie und selten genutzt: QuicktimePanoramaMovies. Falls euch das Programm mit einem "Upgrade Now" begrüßt: Einfach auf "später"/"later" drücken. (Ich habe auch einige andere PlugIns ausprobiert, aber die sind von der DarstellungsQualität (und vor allem der Absturzsicherheit bei größeren Panoramen) leider nicht so gut wie Quicktime) Panoramen im Netz zeigen gern Traumstrände, Stadtskylines und die anderen Postkartenmotive. Schön und gut. Dies hier sind Abbilder der sensationell unsensationellen Normalität. Je älter die Aufnahme ist, desto interessanter wird's. Ihr seid hier also in einem virtuellen Weinkeller. Schaut einfach in 10 oder 20 Jahren wieder vorbei!

Web-Suite Netscape 7.0 ist fertig

Auf dem FTP-Server von Netscape steht die fertige Version 7.0 der Browser-Suite für Mac, Linux und Windows zum <a href="ftp.netscape.com"target="_blank">Download bereit; für Windows gibt es auch bereits die deutsche Ausgabe. Die neue Version basiert auf der Version 1.0.1 von Mozilla, die bisher noch nicht von den Mozilla-Entwicklern freigegeben ist.

RIAA against music sharing? Not anymore! RIAA to sue music sharers? Not Anymore

With the legal file sharing service kazaa still online, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) today announced that it intends to offer the latest albums for download from riaa.org. As you are probably aware, the RIAA has been pursuing a policy of preventing this activity in recent months We have recently become aware that this approach is yielding only limited results and in some cases may in fact be harming sales and the artists' revenue stream. The RIAA wishes to apologise for the heavy-handed manner in which the popular chinese site Listen4Ever was closed down, and would like to present the following items for free download as a token of its goodwill. Of course the list is relatively small, but please be patient - we expect to offer over 300 next week. We also intend to offer pre-released movies in the coming months.
