Homebrew app turns DS Lite into iPod
While the usefulness of such a homebrew application is definitely arguable, what is not arguable is how well it mimics the iPod interface and the aesthetical appeal of said interface. Personally, we would like to give this a try, but with memory issues and more viable solutions for portable music, we don't see ourselves utilizing this application in the long run.

iPod Super
Ultimately, I’d like to get a regular 3.5″ hard drive working with the iPod and explore what capacities it can make use of. The fact that it would be a huge unit will simply be a novelty.
Why do this? This project came about after I dropped my 40 GB 3rd generation iPod and killed the hard drive in it. I decided to open up the iPod and see what I could do with it. I could do so without fear of breaking it, since I’d already broken the most expensive part in it.

Sony preps iPod Shuffle 'killer'
Sony will next month ship its 'iPod Shuffle killer', a compact Flash-based music player with up to 1GB of storage. What distinguishes the Sony product - apart from the distinctly disposable lighter styling - is the integration of an OLED read-out into the player's casing. The device doesn't have a screen as such - track details, the time and tuner station information - appear on the surface of the player.

Hand powered iPod Shuffle
Okay, this is what my friends call a "Torronesque" project. This is where I usually come up with something and build it, and it really has no purpose or usefulness- but on further inspection it's kinda neat. This is the iPod shuffle hand charger, actually recharger. There are many "crank powered" accessories floating around, so I thought I'd try a few and figure out if the iPod shuffle can be recharged with one. Well, it can, sorta.

Newspaper Calls iPod A Device For Downloading Music From P2P Networks
What happens when a non-technically savvy reporter tries to cover things like peer-to-peer file sharing for a local newspaper? You get captions under a staff image of an iPod that read: Apple's iPod is just one of the many ways to download music from the Internet. Seriously. We took the opportunity of securing a screen shot from the Portsmouth Herald, of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, for posterity's sake, in case the newspaper retracted or corrected their factual inaccuracy.
