Looting is a sign of freedom, allies insist
BRITAIN and America stood aside last night as murder and looting plunged Baghdad and other main cities into new levels of anarchy.
Gunmen and thieves ransacked hospitals, hijacked cars and engaged in bloodletting, often in full view of coalition troops. The northern city of Mosul witnessed scenes of mayhem as Saddam’s troops melted away and the population had an orgy of looting.

Nuns Found Guilty of Sabotage
Three Catholic nuns have been found guilty of sabotage and malicious destruction of property for breaking into a missile silo last year in a peace protest.
One of the sisters, Carolyn Gilbert, turned to the jury as the guilty verdict was read Monday and said: "We are not guilty under God's law and international law." Another sister, Ardeth Platte, remained silent but made the sign of the cross as she looked at the jury of six men and six women.

Candy Bomber wants to fly over Baghdad
The pilot known as the Candy Bomber for air-dropping handkerchief-tethered chocolate and gum to the children of Berlin in 1948 wants to do the same for the kids of Baghdad.
''I'd give my right arm to do it,'' said retired Air Force Col. Gail Halvorsen. ''I've had the experience of the reaction of the kids on the ground. It's just incredible.''

Anti-American Sentiment Grows Over War in Iraq
They were seen as the "good cops" who saved West Berlin, defended Western Europe during the Cold War and put an end to the bloodshed in the Balkans -- but the Iraq war has left that image of the United States in shreds.
The erstwhile defenders of freedom and democracy are now more likely to be viewed by their allies around the world as war-mongering imperialists, "bad cops" and "bullies" who lost their way by brushing aside the United Nations and attacking Iraq.

When Protests Are Outlawed Only Outlaws Will Protest
An Oregon antiterrorism bill would jail street-blocking protesters for at least 25 years in what critics consider a thinly veiled effort to discourage antiwar demonstrations. The bill has met strong opposition, but lawmakers expect a debate on the definition of terrorism and the value of free speech before a vote by the state Senate judiciary committee, whose chairman, Republican John Minnis, wrote the proposal.

Anti-War Protests Have Big Price Tags
So who is picking up the tab?
"The major anti-U.S. government demonstrations are organized by people who have been around for a long time, particularly the Workers World Party, which has existed for more than 30 years now and has always supported the enemies of the United States," said Herbert Romerstein, a retired agent of the U.S. Information Agency.

Is there a God?
Throughout history, humanity has sought to explain the unexplainable through spirituality and science, grappling to glean truth from competing ideologies. In a complicated and conflicted world, it would help to at least be assured in our faith, comfortable in the knowledge that we can follow the spiritual blueprint espoused by our favorite entertainer. These responses to the question "Is there a God?" don't form a cohesive answer, so readers will have to draw their own conclusions.
Answers: David Byrne, Nick Lowe, Ani DiFranco, Laurie Anderson, etc...
Paris is a rapper and activist best known for the song "Bush Killa."
The Onion: Is there a God? Paris: Definitely. I definitely think that a higher power exists. God definitely exists.
