Sexy image 'not for display'
THE image at the centre of a row over J.Boag & Sons' latest advertising campaign was never going to appear on billboards or posters, the Tasmanian brewer says.
The photograph of a scantily-clad woman grasping the neck of a beer bottle as a man reaches to expose her breast was published by Boag's in a commemorative album, sales director Lyndon Adams said yesterday.

Some drug store customers in Binghamton, N.Y., are doing a double-take this week when they receive a bonus coupon after making a purchase.
The cash register coupon distributed by a CVS store promises a discount on the customer's next purchase of a stomach.

Apple grilled again over advertising claims
The UK-based Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is after Apple for false advertising claims. This is the second time Apple has been grilled by a UK advertising watchdog, and the third time complaints over the G5's presentation have arisen since the introduction of the "the world's fastest computer."

Controversy Brews Over Hillary, Condoleezza 'Stepford Wives' Ad
Some people are saying the way Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice are portrayed in an ad for the new "Stepford Wives" film is distasteful, even outrageous. The spot shows an image of Rice made to look nude from the waist up, and a picture of Clinton that morphs into what looks like a cookie-baking Stepford wife.
The pictures move across the screen very quickly, but they caught the eye of a Kansas City woman, who recorded the spot to make sure of what she was seeing.

Pepsi ads wink at music downloading
A new sort of Pepsi Generation will get air time on the Super Bowl: music downloaders.
Some 20 teens sued by the Recording Industry Association of America, which accuses them of unauthorized downloads, will appear in a Pepsi-Cola (PEP) ad that kicks off a two-month offer of up to 100 million free — and legal — downloads from Apple's iTunes, the leading online music seller.

Apple TV ad banned in U.K.
British TV regulators banned an ad for Apple Computer's Power Mac G5, saying its claim to the title "world's fastest personal computer" is not fully supported.
While reviewers initially gave the ad the OK, the Independent Television Commission (ITC) this week decided to take action after receiving eight complaints from viewers. The agency concluded that "there was insufficient evidence to support the claim 'world's fastest, most powerful personal computer.'"
