Edeka wirbt mit Kiffern im Supermarkt
Ein ungewöhnlicher Werbespot von Edeka sorgt im Internet für Furore. Zwei junge Männer stehen, offensichtlich bekifft, an einer Supermarktkasse. Die Kassiererin fragt: „Tüte?" - die Beiden prusten los. „Tüte" steht im Drogenjargon für Joint.
Vorbild „Hangover"
Der witzig gemeinte Werbespot mit den Wortspielen wurde seit Mai 2013 im Werbevorprogramm der Kino-Actionkomödie „Hangover 3" gezeigt. Er sprach sich herum und fand seinen Weg ins Internet. Dort wird er über Youtube verbreitet, bei Facebook gepostet und auf Portalen verlinkt. Inzwischen wurde der Spot bei Youtube rund eine halbe Million Mal angeklickt.

Submarine Surfaces in the Middle of a Street
Yesterday, a giant submarine has surfaced in the middle of a busy city street in Milan. People in the city were totally freaked out. My first thought was “Damn.. Italy must really be floating in the ocean.” But, then I read something about a marketing campaign. Totally killed my moment. As it turns out this was actually a publicity stunt for an Italian insurance company.

AdViews: A Digital Archive of Vintage Television Commercials
AdViews is a digital archive of thousands of vintage television commercials dating from the 1950s to the 1980s. These commercials were created or collected by the ad agency Benton & Bowles or its successor, D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles (DMB&B). Founded in 1929, Benton & Bowles was a New York advertising agency that merged with D'Arcy Masius McManus in 1985 to form DMB&B. Major clients included are Procter & Gamble, Kraft, Schick, Vicks, and Post, among others. Commercials will be added in phased batches over several months in 2009. The commercials are a part of the D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles Archives found at the John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising & Marketing History in Duke University's Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library.

Are You Being Manipulated By Subliminal Ads?
When I was in high school, I had a friend who was doing a project on subliminal messages. Of course I had no idea what he was talking about.
So he explained in small words so that I could understand. It went something like this: "A subliminal message is something embedded in something else that is not recognized by your conscious mind. Like in an advertisement."
He then showed me a page torn from a magazine. On the page was a woman in a conservative dress. She was attractive, and somewhat sexy. I don't recall what the ad was for.
