Baghdad will be near impossible to conquer
An astonishing event is about to happen. For the first time in modern history a city with the population of London is preparing to resist assault from a land army. The outcome of such a struggle is wholly imponderable. Cities hate soldiers. Sometimes they throw them kisses. More often they throw them grenades. Defiant cities are near impossible to conquer.

Software-Bug in Patriot-Systemen?

Luckiest man in Iraq
THIS is the luckiest man in Iraq - a Royal Marine who cheated death despite being shot four times in the head during a raging battle.
The bullets hit his Kevlar helmet just above his eye, tearing the camouflage lining and ricocheting away.

When are facts facts? Not in a war
"Fog" is beginning to be the watchword of this war, with the lines between fact and propaganda being blurred on a daily basis.
The demands of round-the-clock news means military claims are being relayed instantly to millions without being confirmed or verified only to be refuted later by reporters on the ground or by fresh military updates.

Iraq’s WMD: How Big a Threat? -= LSD =-
He added that Iraq's exotic weapons programs also involved the use of psycho-tropic agents similar to LSD. “They were not meant to kill, just incapacitate, confuse,” says the inspector. This had been designed, he says, as a means to fight off rag-tag Iranian forces in the late 1980’s during the long war between Baghdad and Tehran. The other WMD weapons Iraq may still have were initially designed to “fight off Iranian human wave attacks, they really weren't meant against a force like the U.S. military.”

What Is Really Happening in Iraq?
The Americans and their faithful allies, the British, are committing war crimes, attacking a sovereign state outside the auspices of the UNO. Since there have been civilian casualties, these are war crimes by definition.
But aren’t they helping the people by freeing Iraq? Freeing Iraq, under whose authority? How do you explain the fact that the Shi’ite south, which was supposed to welcome the “liberators” with open arms, has not risen up against the regime?

I was a naive fool to be a human shield for Saddam
I wanted to join the human shields in Baghdad because was direct action which had a chance of bringing the anti-war movement to the forefront of world attention. It was inspiring: the human shield volunteers were making a sacrifice for their political views - much more of a personal investment than going to a demonstration in Washington or London. It was simple - you get on the bus and you represent yourself.

Guide: "Surviving War in Iraq"
The Basics of War Survival
Before I get into the specifics of surviving this particular war I would like to cover a few of the basics of survival that apply to any war, whether it's being fought in the Mid-East against Iraq or on the moon against the legions of zombie cosmonauts. The first thing you need to remember is that words can hurt, but bullets can hurt a whole lot more and even kill you sometimes if they hit you in the right parts. When you go into a war zone many of the enemy soldiers will attempt to shoot bullets either directly at you or in your general direction. If they are shooting them directly at you then you should immediately dive into a trench, inside a tank, behind a lamp post, or under a bed. If they are just shooting them in your general direction then you don't need to worry, just climb out of the trench and yell "charge" or "get 'em boys". Nothing bad will happen to you.
