Dates Clash With Saddam's Day of Destiny
The picture of a palm tree with ripe dates near the mud hole where Saddam Hussein was hiding has given rise to speculation that the arrest may have taken place two months ago.
“The yellowish dates in the picture behind two American soldiers show that Saddam was not present there at this time of the year,” Okaz Arabic daily reported. “The picture shows that the capture of Saddam would have taken place two months ago,” the paper said.

Saddam - the can of worms
Although the capture of ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has provided a welcome political boost for the Bush administration, few intelligence professionals believe that the fallen president had been playing an active role in directing continuing attacks against Coalition troops and foreign diplomats in Iraq. Then there is the prospect of a public trial during which the USA's past policies in the region may come under unwelcome scrutiny.

Saddam documents lead to arrests
U.S. military officials said Monday they had arrested several resistance leaders in Baghdad based on documents found when Saddam Hussein was captured.
Officials said that some of the documents detailed a meeting of resistence cell leaders -- and included their names.

About 600 members of the 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, along with special operations forces, launched Operation Red Dawn after receiving intelligence that Saddam was in the area, said Army Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, commander of coalition forces in the country.
