The Torture Playlist
Music has been used in American military prisons and on bases to induce sleep deprivation, "prolong capture shock," disorient detainees during interrogations—and also drown out screams. Based on a leaked interrogation log, news reports, and the accounts of soldiers and detainees, here are some of the songs that guards and interrogators chose.

Laser Gunship Revealed
During a phoner press conference, Boeing officials mentioned in passing they were working on another system that could engage ground targets. To me, this seems far more logical for such a weapon than one that's designed to knock out missiles...that mission strikes me as redundant.
Well, now it seems Boeing has taken the first step in making the laser gunship a reality by installing the weapon on a C-130H...

New jet fighter helmet 'sees' through floors
This ain't your papa's flight helmet. Designed for pilots of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the helm you see above will allow pilots to virtually see through the aircraft around them, giving them a wide field of view ahead and superimposing an Infrared image of the world below onto their visors at night.

New technology that can make tanks invisible has been unveiled by the Ministry of Defence.
In secret trials last week, the Army said it had made a vehicle completely disappear and predicted that an invisible tank would be ready for service by 2012.

How We Won the War on Thai Chili Sauce
We've opened up a new front on the war on terror. It's an attack on the unique, the unorthodox, the unexpected. It's a war on different. If you act different, you might find yourself investigated, questioned and even arrested -- even if you did nothing wrong, and had no intention of doing anything wrong.
The problem is a combination of citizen informants and a CYA attitude among police that results in a knee-jerk escalation of reported threats.

Pentagon: Electromagnetic pulse bombs from 2012
A presentation given by a US Air Force official may have - temporarily, at least - laid to rest one of the wilder and wackier secret superweapon conspiracy theories of recent times.
The superweapon in question is the dreaded "E-bomb", aka "Electromagnetic pulse weapon (EMP)" "High Power Microwave (HPM)" and so on, depending on the exact details.

Cyberwar: China Declares War On Western Search Sites
Further to our earlier story on visitors to Google Blogsearch being redirected to Baidu in China, new reports have surfaced that would indicate that China has unilaterally blocked all three major search engines in China and is redirecting all requests to Baidu.
Digital Marketing Blog posts that all requests to Yahoo.com and sub-sites are being redirected to Baidu. Google Blogscoped forums indicate that Live.com is also being re-directed to Baidu, as well as confirming the Yahoo story and our earlier Google post.
