New prisoner abuse accounts emerge
Graphic accounts by Iraqi prisoners of abuse at the hands of US soldiers have been published in a US newspaper, with fresh images depicting ill-treatment.
The Washington Post says it has seen hundreds of videos and photos which show previously unseen abusive methods used at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib jail.

GI: Boy mistreated to get dad to talk
A military intelligence analyst who recently completed duty at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq said Wednesday that the 16-year-old son of a detainee there was abused by U.S. soldiers to break his father's resistance to interrogators.
The analyst said the teenager was stripped naked, thrown in the back of an open truck, driven around in the cold night air, splattered with mud and then presented to his father at Abu Ghraib, the prison at the center of the scandal over abuse of Iraqi detainees.

UK pondered suicide pigeon attacks
British spy chiefs secretly considered training pigeons to fly into enemy targets carrying explosives or biological weapons, it has been revealed.
British intelligence set up a "pigeon committee" at the end of World War II to ensure expertise gained in the use of the birds to carry messages was not lost.

Last Spanish troops leave Iraq
The last Spanish soldiers in Iraq are leaving, fulfilling the election pledge made by the new Spanish government to withdraw its troops from the country.
The troops have left their base in the southern town of Diwaniyah and are heading for the border with Kuwait.

Yet more photos of US brutality published
The video begins with three soldiers huddled around a naked detainee, his thin frame backed against a wall. With a snap of his wrist, one of the soldiers slaps the man across his left cheek so hard that the prisoner's knees buckle. Another detainee, handcuffed and on his back, is dragged across the prison floor.

2 New Abu Ghraib Torture Photos Surface
ABC News reports that it has obtained two new photos detailing abuses at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison. Both pictures feature Spc. Charles Graner and Spc. Sabrina Harman posing over the body of Manadel al-Jamadi. One picture can be seen on the link.

US-Soldaten folterten drei Reuters-Mitarbeiter im Irak
Wieder ist ein Misshandlungsfall im Irak ans Tageslicht gekommen. Drei irakische Mitarbeiter der Nachrichtenagentur Reuters waren im Januar während ihrer Arbeit von US-Streitkräften in Haft genommen worden.
Ein Kameramann, ein Fernsehjournalist und deren Fahrer wurden drei Tage lang in zwei verschiedenen Militärlagern untergebracht. Im Stützpunkt Volturno ereigneten sich die Misshandlungen. Auch seien sie sexuell und religiös erniedrigt worden.

Four Arrests Made In Connection To Berg Beheading
A senior Iraqi source has disclosed that four people have been arrested in connection with the recent execution of US civilian Nick Berg. The ringleader of the group responsible, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, is apparently not one of those apprehended.
The source is quoted as saying "We have made good progress", in reference to the investigation into the Americans murder.

Syria...Next on the war against terror
Under President Hafez al Assad, Syria built its chemical and missile ability for over 30 years, with no objection from the U.N., E.U. or U.S.
Syria’s choice of being a hideout for war criminals and terrorists is similarly well known. Even as far back as the end of WWII, escaping high-level Nazi war criminals found Syria an excellent safe haven.

Institutionalisierte Folter: Neue Videos aus Guantánamo aufgetaucht
Im US-Gefangenenlager Guantánamo Bay ist es nicht nur zu zahlreichen Misshandlungen von Gefangenen gekommen, diese wurden außerdem routinemäßig mit Kameras aufgezeichnet. Zuständig dafür war die so genannte 'Extreme Reaction Force'.
