US Soldiers taking money & property?
The US has been accused by a human rights organization to be taking money and property from civilian homes during raids.
In the last 14 months the US has conducted thousands of raids on homes all across Iraq. It is routine to seize money, jewelry, and other valuable property from resistance suspects.

Nicht genug mit dem täglichen Kampf gegen Terrorangriffe, sehen sich US-Soldaten im Irak den Attacken einer ganz anderen Spezies ausgesetzt. Dort sorgt die suppentellergroße Kamelspinne derzeit für allerlei Aufregung und Spekulationen unter den Truppen.

Hitler Heir Doesn't Want 'Mein Kampf' Royalties
A German historian said Sunday a distant relative of Adolf Hitler could sue the state of Bavaria for royalties from the Nazi dictator's book "Mein Kampf" but the retired Austrian engineer said he wants no part of it.

A videotape shows a dozen white pickup trucks speeding through the desert, escorting a bridal car decorated with colorful ribbons. The bride wears a Western-style white bridal dress and veil. The camera captures her stepping out of the car but does not show a close-up.

Iraq Wedding Film Challenges U.S. on Air Strike
New video showing Iraqis singing and dancing at a desert wedding begged more questions on Monday about a U.S. air strike last week that killed about 40 people.
The U.S. military has insisted most of the dead were foreign guerrilla fighters who had slipped over the nearby Syrian border. Local people say the Americans massacred wedding guests.
Associated Press Television News said it obtained the footage from a survivor of the strike early on May 19.

Soldiers Can No Longer Have Camera Phones in Iraq
The Pentagon reportedly believes that photos of Abu Ghrain prisoners being abused were taken with camera phones. This has led to Rumsfeld banning "Digital cameras, camcorders and cellphones with cameras."
The ban applies to "military compounds in Iraq" but the Pentagon plans a "total ban throughout the US military."

Die wegen der Misshandlung von Häftlingen im Irak unter Druck geratene US-Armee ermittelt in acht weiteren Tötungsfällen im Irak und in Afghanistan. Amtliche Leichenbeschauer gingen davon aus, dass der Tod der Gefangenen durch körperliche Gewalt vor oder während der Verhöre eingetreten sein könne, teilte das US-Verteidigungsministerium mit. Unterdessen stellte auch die britische Justiz Ermittlungen gegen einen Soldaten wegen der Tötung eines irakischen Zivilisten in Aussicht.

Videos Amplify Picture of Violence
The edited video excerpt is from a collection of short digital video files obtained by The Washington Post. The videos appear to show U.S. soldiers abusing detainees last fall in Abu Ghraib prison.
In this video, soldiers are shown apparently attempting to arrange a human pyramid with naked Iraqi prisoners -- a scene similar to those also shown in previously obtained photographs.

Beheading suspects 'led by Saddam's nephew'
The mystery of who killed Nick Berg, the freelance contractor beheaded on video, took a new twist last night when Iraqi police claimed they had arrested four suspects with links to Saddam Hussein's family.
Iraqi security officials said Berg's alleged killers were part of a group led by a close relative of Saddam - his nephew Yasser al-Sabawi.

Reuters Stands by Iraq Abuse Reports, Releases Timeline on Incident
Despite official military statements denying any wrongdoing -- and an announcement today that the case is "closed" -- Reuters is standing by allegations that three of its employees were abused by U.S. soldiers while confined near Falluja in January.

Norway to bring troops home from Iraq
Visiting Norwegian Foreign Minister Jan Petersen said Friday that Oslo will be bringing its troops in Iraq back to Norway as planned this summer when their term expires and indicated that replacement troops are not expected to be sent.
