Brain Story
I've just noticed that probably one of the best TV series on psychology and neuroscience ever produced, the BBC's Brain Story, is available on public bittorrent servers for download.
It is a six part series covering virtually every area of contemporary neuropsychology, including the major researchers, discoveries, techniques and even many of the patients who have been the subjects of classic case studies that have helped us understand the curious effects of brain injury.

Inspirational teenager
When I met Daniel Brusilovsky he impressed me. Why? I can’t exactly say, but everyone who watches this video so far around the office says “wow.” Daniel’s 14, has an IT job and an Apple-focused podcast and we have a neat discussion about lots of things including what social networks he’s on and how he does it all on an old computer that’s not even a Mac (can we get donations to buy him a new Mac?)

Parents warned of powered skates that can reach 20mph
They look like the kind of footwear a character from the Beano might sport - rollerskates powered by a petrol engine that can reach up to 20mph in less than 20 seconds.
But trading standards officers yesterday warned children to steer clear of the skates after seizing a consignment of 50 apparently destined for UK streets. A hand-held throttle controls a 25cc engine built onto the back of the right boot with a one litre fuel tank. The "cruising" speed is put at 10mph and the skates can whizz along for more than an hour.

BBC online video service launches
The BBC's flagship online TV service is being launched, offering viewers the chance to download their favourite programmes from the last seven days.
For director general Mark Thompson, the launch of iPlayer is as big a milestone as the arrival of colour TV.
But others have questioned how technically reliable it will be and whether it is late to a crowded market.
At launch, a fixed number of people will be able to sign up, with the numbers increasing throughout the year.
