Pentagon to Offer Combat Videophones
The Pentagon plans to equip public affairs officers with two-way satellite video transmitters to provide on-the-spot visuals from combat zones that it says could counter hostile propaganda.
The $27,000 Austrian-made videophone system will allow military field commanders to hold "near real-time" videoconferences with journalists who may be sitting anywhere on the planet, said Lt. Col. David Lamp, a spokesman for the U.S. Joint Forces Command.

Updating of the much-loved 1975 Tim Curry flick, to be released early in 2003 to coincide with the original show's thirtieth anniversary of its London debut. Elliot's new millennium Frank'n-Furter no longer inhabits his decrepit Transylvanian mansion but is instead, a high profile plastic surgeon living life to the full in his luxury apartment. Still obssessed with physical perfection however, his aim is to create visually at least, the perfect man. Dialog and music is unchanged in deference to the original production. Alles was die welt nicht mehr braucht.

'Doom' looms at Warners
Warner Bros. Pictures is in final negotiations to pick up the feature film rights to id Software Inc.'s video game property "Doom" in a progress-to-production deal that will see the project go in front of the cameras in 15 months, or the rights revert back to the software company.
